King Kuz and Harry and the Knickerbockers
Wiz trade: Kuz/25 WAS 2nd
Wiz get: Fournier/Mitchell/24 DET 1st(top 18,13,11,9, becomes 27 2nd)/26 SAC 1st(top 8, top 4, 2 2nds)
Knicks trade: Fournier/24 DET 1st
Knicks get: Harry Barnes/25 WAS 2nd
Kings trade: Barnes/Mitchell/26 SAC 1st
Kings get: Kuzma
Kings pay a future first to turn Barnes into Kuzma a long-rumored, much-discussed target.
Knicks pay a 1st not likely to convey for several years into Barnes who fills a need and they get what is likely a top 40 pick back next year.
Wiz get their 2 1sts for Kuzma, but have to wait a couple years and give up a good 2nd to get them. But that will help because in 3 years they will want to be competitive and having assets coming in then is perfect.

I wouldn't as Washington, but definitely a switch I think the Knicks could live with.

If Kings would prefer Grant -> I could see Portland being willing to do a similar trade.

I know a couple Sac fans don’t want him, and I understand that feeling completely, but the team has been interested in the past.
Like Washington getting the Detroit pick and waiting for it while they ideally tank the next 16 to 28 months..
I like the value for all three teams. Think Washington is more likely to stay in bottom 8 the next 2 years than Detroit the next 3.. despite their records this year, Detroit has more building blocks (eh) and more cap space to chase the play-in off of.

So this is just me, but I have Kuz worth more than Grant. I think they are close to a push as players, maybe a slight edge to Grant? With the contract difference being significantly in Kuz favor. So I'm not sure they should get the same value.

I am a Barnes has positive trade value denier. I will go down with the ship on that one. He is one of the least impactful starters in the league imo. I think a expiring/2nds is his high water mark in trade value...so neutral at best.

Yeah I didn't value him really highly here, I didn't think? Fournier is obviously negative though that's irrelevant here as he's just a matching tool. And they get what is likely to be a mid 30's pick back.
But yeah it might should just be a couple Knicks 2nds and call it a day. I like Barnes a bit more than you, but I may have overshot.

In all honestly I would rather have Collins/Wiggins/Simmons over Barnes for Memphis and certain other teams as well. I just hate watching the kings and your PF is getting 1 reb in 30+ minutes. But league wide I think Barnes' shooting and good character vet angle will win the day on trade value, I just don't want him on any team I care about.

Fournier is an optional expiring contract. That’s more value than the negative contract Barnes is on

Over the Detroit 1st but not over both of them.

Re: King Kuz and Harry and the Knickerbockers
I'm with psman2 & KOA with this one. A expiring and a 1st is to much for 3 years of Barnes even with the 2nd coming back.
NY has I Hart and OG deal to think about and his $18 M next year would cost another 1st to move.
How about Sasha Vezenkov for the Toppin trade except & a 2nd? Maybe he can be useful playing the old Toppin role.

So with it sounding like I overvalued Barnes, and your concerns about future salary. I wonder about Barnes to Detroit as the adult in the room with Bojan going to NY. His offense helps as a temporary starter with Randle out and then he really helps shore up a 2nd unit once Randle returns.

Re: King Kuz and Harry and the Knickerbockers
Chuck I know this looks good to the board here.
But I don’t want to see Kuzma anywhere near the Kings no matter how cheap.
I absolutely don’t want to see my team sending out a good locker room guy and solid dude in Barnes and a first for that classless clown legend in his own mind chucker.
I hope that the Kings either stand pat or make a minor move or two to shore up the bench.

Re: King Kuz and Harry and the Knickerbockers
I know its often rumored, but I really wonder if its coming from Sac.
I'm out on Kuzma. It makes us slightly better but doesn't actually move the needle. And now we have just kicked our picks down the road to 2028. Just not the right target, we aren't a team lacking scoring. The move needs to be to add a serious defender, Kuzma isn't that. Give me Wiggins for half the cost.

I’m out on ANY of:
Kuzma - selfish chucker who needs a LeBron level
guy to ride him to perform
Grant - too old over the life of the deal and too
expensive to keep our money right
Bojanovich - doesn’t really make the needed
impact (defensive) and WAY too old going
forward
I just can’t see locking up money and/or picks for guys that don’t move this team to immediate contender level. It’s not worth the cost and risk.

Re: King Kuz and Harry and the Knickerbockers
I personally not a Kuzma fan and I don't believe the difference between the values of Kuzma and Barnes is a first round pick.
Personally I'd rather roll with Barnes who seems to be shaking off thr early season rust and rounding back into form. And use the draft capital for other inprovements.
