I don't see why OKC wouldn't do this. One extremely late FRP in a really crappy draft is a very small price to pay to shed some salary and add Chris Paul for the playoffs. OKC already has 12 guys under contract next year before adding 3 other FRP's to the roster.

CP3 is an expiring this year or can be one next year. Should be able to do better for the asset imo

He’s an expiring this year. We’re not going to guarantee him $30 million for next year in the hopes that we can trade him for something we want. Not with our lux tax problems.

Lacob’s prime directive may not be to save but you bet your butt that if he can save 100 million dollars with little impact on the on-court product he’s gonna do it.

We’ll see-particularly if the team shares your belief that letting him and that salary slot walk is “little impact”. How else do you propose the team adds a major piece?

I think all parties would do this deal.
Would prefer Bagley since I think GS needs size over backup pg because Podz has performed.
