This is clearly going to be a 3 way trade where we get Dlo and a prospect from the Lakers and then send Dlo for something from the Nets.

Dlo was an allstar with the Nets and would be replacing Dinwiddie who has been brutal for them.

Given that this years FA corp is quite mediocre I wonder if Masai will role the dice to accumulate reclamation projects and expiring deals for 2025.

Here is a crazy idea combing a bunch of rumours:

Trade 1:

Raps trade Brown to Lakers for DLo, Hood Schfino and highly protected future first round pick.

Trade 2:

Raps send Schroeder and Porter to Lakers for Hachimura. This is to work around the inability to combine Brown in a deal with other players

Trade 3:

Raps send Russell, Jakob, Boucher to Nets for Claxton and Simmons. Nets have Sharpe emerging and might not plan to resign Claxton

Raps new line-up

Quickley - Lewis
Barrett- Trent - Hood
Simmons - Dick
Barnes - Hachimura - McDaniels
Claxton - Porter

We have bird rights to both IQ and Claxton and extend both guys at around 20-25 million a piece.

Simmons we have him as a big expiring and need a strong defender. Ben is a DPOY even without the offense. His contract will be valuable and if his injuries persist he will likely be exemption eligible. Hachimura is a young piece at a decent price. He can start or be a guy off the bench. It could be argued that you have Ben playing back-up point and start Rui.

No no, don't bring logic into Del's opinion of Masai.

Clearly there is logic. DLo is not a negative asset - very low positive asset. But he is an asset for a competing team only. So why would we ever consider acquire DLo and pay a cost (e.g. Part of Bruce Brown's positive value)?

To get a first round draft pick from the Lakers. Otherwise it's not happening. These articles never share the full picture. Then you can flip Dlo eventually for whatever change you can get.

Yeah the only way this is happening is that nobody else wants to trade FRPs.
