What two players would have the most minimal impact on Magic culture?

My two are:
Schroeder
Duncan Robinson

My initial reaction looking at the list is... 15-16 guys?

Maybe Booker and down... Maybe.

Path B: accelerate build. Consolidate around Franz and Paolo by trading for players to fill key roles.

Path A has the highest long term value. Suggs, Black, and Jett all have all star potential

Path B has the lowest risk, we can protectively buy pieces that fit around Franchero.

I pick path A

No disrespect intended of course, but "Suggs, Black, and Jett all have all star potential" feels like EXTREMELY wishful thinking.

More likely they're all just good role players.

Also the Magic can retain all three of them and still take Path B where they add higher end talent without sacrificing any of them.

I'm still reeling from this

Making an All-Star team is really hard!

Like Franz really wasn’t that close to making it this year and he averaged 20-6-4 with good defense on a team with a winning record.

Like in what world is Suggs, Black or Jett ever going to match those numbers? Much less exceed them which is what it would take.

I think Tyus or Murray end up here. Here's to hoping

I would, and for me it would take someone like Mikal Bridges or LaMelo Ball. A borderline all star who can score/shoot, play D, and is good now not potentially but also not declining. Garland falls just below the cut for me, as does Trae.

I would definitely trade two unprotected firsts + Jett for Garland. Especially that 2024 in a weak draft and the Nuggets 2025. In a heartbeat.

There is an old adage that you just don't trade away firsts if you aren't a team primed to go deep in the playoffs. The Magic probably believe that as well. But I think exceptions should be made if you have a middling pick in a crummy draft (like in 2024) or a late first of a championship contender (like the Nuggets in 2025).

And as for Trae, I don't know if I have written about this on here, but I feel like Trae Young is not as liked within the NBA as the media would like it portrayed. His style of play is reviled for its reliance on referee whistles, and he pouts like a child more than any non-Lebron star should. I would stay away from Trae in general, as he could wreck the goodwill of just about any team.

Good try to keep your friend from getting in trouble. But now we know we can lock in these trades!

It’s ride or die time with Fultz to close the year out.

Murray has a sore back. Sources unconfirmed if its from handling his luggage or carrying the Hawks.

Steam picking up with Murray and 76ers somehow.

What could they possibly offer? Tobias Harris?

I could def see Nola with some of their young pieces like Hawkins/Murphy/Jones/Daniels

(Damn they have so many young guys that barely see the floor with a lot of potential)

But the 76ers? If he gets traded for Tobias I’ll be so mad.

Good for Monte. Awesome fit for TWolves.

Fills the Tyus role when he was there.

Harris is a FA. Doesn't have trade value.

Same reason Tyus can only command 2 seconds. Too bad Weltman gave away all of our seconds for cash considerations

Expiring holds value to a team like the Hawks trying to cut back and find the right pieces around Trae and Jalen Johnson.

Another name I’d like to see in the conversation is Bogdanovic from Detroit. Harris, Cole and the Denver pick? With Franz spending time at the 2 he could bring us some much needed scoring/shooting. Veteran presence.

Very true. My only counter is that there is like a 28% probability of a lotto pick showing all star talent in the league and we've got 3 of them where the window is still open. Sure, the probability isn't distributed evenly between picks and drafts but just for the sake of argument, that would be a 44% probability that at least one of Suggs, Jett, and AB are all-star talents, a 17% probability that 2 are, and q 2% probability that all 3 are. That's a very optimistic evaluation, so water that down and I'd still argue there is a non-negligible probability that one of them shows ALL-STAR talent, if not two. I feel like Suggs is on the cusp. This doesn't even factor in them developing into quality starters, and remember they tend to do this within their rookie contracts, so we're not talking like a long timeline here. We've just got to be patient and give them opportunities.
