Utah as a trade partner? Olynyk/Agbaji for Brown

Post#1 » by Merit » Thu Feb 8, 2024 1:31 am

Thought this deserved its own thread because we haven’t heard Utah in any rumours.

Olynyk and Agbaji (plus possible picks) for Brown.

There’s another team to consider as a strong possibility for Brown. The Jazz, according to league sources, have discussed a framework with the Raptors that would bring Brown to Utah in return for Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji. What draft capital could be part of that conversation remains to be seen, but Toronto has been consistent with its messaging to rival teams that it is looking for a first-round pick for Brown, sources said.

While Jake Fischer isn’t Shams or Woj or Windy or Lowe - I’d argue he’s in that tier.

I like this for us, but I’d rather get THT than Agbaji - though Ochai’s rookie scale contract is a good one. Oh and Ochai can shoot.

What do you think?

Not sure why they would give us a prospect, the best player in the deal and maybe even a pic for a scrub like bruce, but I'll take it.

That’s like LeDoug saying we aren’t trading Pascal.

Bruh what? We don’t value Bruce the same way for sure. Don’t get me wrong, I like Kelly Olynyk. Bruce isn’t on an expiring contract - but he could be, if that’s what you want.

Let's try and keep the convo in the trade thread if we can so we have everything in one place.

Tony Jones really isn't one to be breaking any potential trade news.

Likely doesn't happen regardless but Oynyk in Canada would be great. Agbaji was considered "untradeable" this time last year but now Utah has too many young players such as Hendricks and Sensabaugh that need minutes.

No thanks. Agbaji is hot trash. Didn't like him in the draft and still don't.

I, in particular, respect brown’s A+ effort on defence.

Admirable.

Fair, but Utah is pretty out of left field.

3 way with new york?

Pick + Fournier to utah
Olynyk/Agbaji and/or pick? to Toronto
Brown to NYK

Why would Masai allow Utah to walk away with a pick when we have our own rebuild to be worried about?

Unless the NYK pick is headed to Utah and Utah is giving us a 2025 FRP, I don't see the point of this.

The point is Agbaji, if you know Masai you’ll know there’s truth to this. Agbaji has Raptors written all over him. Drafted as a senior, Nigerian father, promising displays in limited minutes so far in the league. Guard but averaging 1.0 blocks per 36, 2.0 stocks per 36.

I’m convinced ladies and gentlemen.

I haven’t really seen much of him and I know he got buried on the bench in Utah. He’s 22 though, and as long as we get a pick, I don’t really care who the other players are. Ideally we get Kelly too, because he’s the exact type of C we need beside Scottie and in a lineup with BBQ. Gives us a ton of options.

22? Dude turns 24 in April. Olynyk should go to a contender - that is not us.

Dude, you can't start a new thread with a title like that less than a day before trade deadline, I thought you were reporting an actual trade.

Fake Fischer who says we will trade Siakam during the 2022 season, then Anunoby during the 2023 season.
His source has their agenda, and not something can be believed into.

Was rushing and stand corrected on his age. As for Kelly going to a contender - I’m good with whatever. I like Kelly because he’s Canadian and would serve a purpose on our team.

Not sure, but did you actually read what I said or did you just look to poke holes in my statement? Because for whatever reason this feels unnecessarily pointed.

I have zero skin in the game other than the Raps maximizing the returns for their assets.
