This would be a very bad loss.

I think Gard consciously had them go away from shooting so many 3s this year, and that’s fine. It has turned the offense into something more consistent.

There are a lot of stretches though where it seems like they say, “we are cold, only go to the basket” and I feel like they bypass an important part of the game (making some 3s) sometimes.

Was just saying this last game. They always pass up a good first look from 3.

Going to be fun watching them get bounced in the 5/12 matchup because they can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Bad Loss, Klesmit has come back to earth and Chucky looks disinterested in guarding anyone. Might as well just let Essegian just chuck for a while.

But I'm happy for a win in a horrible season.

Im pretty hard on Chuckles, because his on ball defense is ass. But even more ass the last few games has been Crowl. WTF is that.

Sit on your hands for 2 months while the team wins like 13/14 games. Lose a couple, Fire Gard. Every loss is a sign that Gard should be fired. Every win, silence. Based on these standards, basically every coach even those in the top 15ish should all be fired other than Uconn cuz he has ringz. Or I suppose Baylor, but really he hasn't won a title in a few years now and just had a 3 games losing streak so is he really the guy long term? Fire him. Terrible loss, can we just give it a rest on the nonsense overreactions game by game

I think it’s fair, now there’s a trend of worse performances as the season wears on. Last year, the Badgers were solid to start the year but subpar in conference. This year it took awhile until the subpar play but it has come all of a sudden at an in opportune time. Pretty similar to Wojo’s trends at Marquette. I think Gard is a better coach than Wojo but not that much of a gap.

Wojo took Marquette to the dance twice in 7 seasons and never won a tournament game. Gard has taken the Badgers to the dance 6 times in 8 seasons and will soon make it 7 in 9. Gard won the Big Ten twice, Wojo never came close to winning the Big East. There is an absolute massive gap between the two. I think Gard & Smart are pretty on par when it comes to coaching ability, both are far far ahead of Wojo

So the Purdue game and large chunks of the Michigan game...of course the Nebraska game 1H. They played fine.

Obviously it's dumb yet obvious to over-simplify the sport to, "the 3 pointers are falling" but that's what it is.

They aren't playing that poorly, but they are designed to not shoot many 3s this year. They also are letting teams shoot more 3s this year. Nebraska obviously was the 1H/2H difference of makes/misses between the two teams. They couldn't hit any 3s against Purdue...neither did Purdue but Purdue crushed the long 2 game and Edey cleanups. Last night, they once again could not hit any 3s, Michigan hit a few extra and got to the line more.

If they consistently get to the line AND hit a decent clip on their 3s, everything is great. They are very beatable if they aren't getting to the line or hitting the open 3s since they are so focused on getting to the basket this year.
