Poole looks like broken goods right now. Ben Simmons is broken goods. Dinwiddie decided to go on strike. So…

Poole + Delon Wright FOR Simmons + picks.

Thoughts?

Ben Simmons is only one more year under contract, and if on top of that we get “picks”, Dawkins & Winger will ascend to the Olympus of genius tradesmen

…and Poole has 3 yrs left. Wright is expiring, which will free up $8.1M for the Nets to spend elsewhere. Simmons is oft injured, even this season, and Nets would be glad to get rid of his $38m contract. You must be valuing Simmons highly to think it's a steal for the Wizards.

3.5 more years of watching Poole is a demoralizing prospect...with Simmons is only 1.5 years...

Not a terrible deal. We can always trade home in the summer.

Not in suport of this strategy at all. Trade a guy at his peak trade value. You're not going to get more for him later. All you do is risk an injury to a asset you don't plan on keeping. Look what happened with Chicago.

Maybe, or maybe interested teams make a move for another player.

Really hoping this won’t be another terribly disappointing trade deadline

I think it is a given that Wright is traded.

1) How is he "Peak Value"? Its literally a quantifiable certainty that he will be making/owed less money as the market cap/Salary cap increases. If he doesnt make a single improvement and only avoids catastrophic injury, then his value increases.

2) Many teams have gone all in in the last 2 years and there are a dearth of draft picks available. Dallas, LAC, Lakers, TWolves, Bucks, Suns, Miami, etc.

Our defense will be so flammable. That said if we’re getting something significant for him let’s do it. Non offensively talented centers are not the hardest puzzle piece to find
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Its important, we have to be actually worse in the coming years. We aren't getting a genuine piece from this draft because we were too stupid to trade Beal when classes coming in were actually quality, we tanked for literally one of the medal stand worst 3 drafts of the 21st century. We need to tank at least 2 more at minimum to have any chance at being any good in the next five years, so losing Gafford is fine, we aren't looking to be competitive for years.

Anyone know who the draft compensation is coming from and what it will be?

About 35 minutes left. I'm going to be pretty disappointed if we don't trade at least 2 of Jones, Shamet, and Wright.

I'm of the opinion unless SAC get an itchy trigger finger that Kuz is here to stay. No way Poole is leaving after his 0 point and 6 foul masterclass last night in 25 minutes.
