Relying on the buyout market is smart, because the Sixers have always been successful on that front.

I'm predicting DeRozan in the next 40 minutes. Especially if we're banking on getting Lowry on the buyout market.

You'd need Harris as matching salary. I can't see it.

I know it's sacrilege to say, but Batum, Melton, and Cov make it work.

I imagine Hield will get resigned at around $20m.

We should recoup one of those seconds by trading Martin somewhere.

Knicks fans considered Grimes untouchable earlier this year

Knicks only give up two 2nds and get a much better player than Hield.

Knicks are stacked.

Don't mind rooting for them if we flop.

I'd like to see them play first before I give my final opinion on this trade for Buddy Hield. Certainly, it's an upgrade for Korkmaz or Morris Jr., but I don't like how we'd look with Hield and Maxey in the backcourt. I think that's too much baggage to carry alongside Tobias or another stretch 4.

While Hield might provide superb shooting, it won't be enough on defense to slow down the Celtics' offense. I just don't see Hield as the type of player who is “kryptonite type player” to the Celtics like how our wings were against them.

I see Buddy Hield playing the Norman Powell role while Oubre plays the Terance Mann role for the Clippers, where Hield plays as a 6th man scorer and we have the option to either play Hield or Mann alongside Maxey, Embiid, Tobias, and Batum, depending on the situation.

While Embiid is out, Hield provides Maxey with another scoring option outside of Tobias. It's also likely that we're going to acquire one more "meh" player (likely Lowry) in the buyout market to help Maxey on offense.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

And a player with perceived upside. We don't have any of those.

That's true (both that it would work while still keeping them under the tax, and that it's sacrilege)

If Grimes played in any other city than NY he would be viewed as just a guy. He's a NY propaganda creation. NY, LA, Boston players always get overhyped just by existing in those cities.

I imagine Hield is going to back up Maxey to keep the scoring load going when Maxey is off the court. Hield and Embiid will likely not lose too much offense effectiveness when Maxey takes a breather.

This is a fair statement but also simply a fact of life. Philly is known for eating its own and ripping on any player that isn’t perfect. We are the negative hype city.
