I just don’t see the Bucks moving Khris or Brook. There’s no way they risk that kind of trade when all this team really needs this year is a bit of tinkering around the edges and good health.

Replace Beas with a big wing defender, and teams will still switch Dame into mismatches all night long. That problem is not fixable. Get someone who can chase through screens and rear contest in the drop scheme. Bled was perfect. Unfortunately, the Bucks needed some offense from him then. Not so now, with Dame.

Guys with decent size who can get through screens AND defend the wing:

Caruso - Unfortunately, the Bulls would rather fight for the 8th seed in perpetuity.
Thybulle - Makes too much sense. Get it done now Horst. Should have overpaid to bring him in with Dame in the 1st place.
Smart - I'd end up looking like Voldemort from holding my nose, but whatever.

Feel like it may be the norm moving forward with how restrictive the second apron is and the cost of acquiring difference makers. Teams don't have draft picks that they've already traded and won't have the ability to use creative salary cap rules.

New apron rules definitely factor in. But I think this particular deadline it's more that we've had so many big named dudes dealt the past 18 months there aren't many options left.

There's some true irony to them putting these rules in place now when the two teams I root for (suns/bucks) have ownership that can and will spend money.
