Trades are really the final way to improve the team now. We are likely drafting in the middle of the first, and our 11th pick can’t even get minutes now. I wouldn’t be surprised if we punt the pick and bring in Jett as our “rookie” next year. Free agency has been a non-factor for roughly 15 years. Not sure why that would change now. Our front office gives out some absolutely fantastic, moveable contracts and continually fails to cash them in. 2nd rounders are more valuable than ever to every team besides the Magic. We stash them and never cash them in for anything besides, well, cash.

I sincerely appreciate that we’re competitive this year, but if we don’t do anything this off-season besides resigning Fultz, Harris and Ingles then we need to move on to a different president of basketball ops. A front office equivalent of firing Brian Hill and replacing him with Stan. “Thanks for getting us back to relevance, but we need someone who can get us over the top”.
