Why would Mavs need Dinwiddie?

We still need someone who can handle the ball and is reliable off the bench and he played very well when he was here. Kyrie and Luka cant be the only ones. Cant rely on Hardy or Green.

I’m just glad Grant is gone. We straight up needed more talent. Waiting on Gafford to finalize

You have already forgotten Exum?

Nope didn’t forget him, he been injury prone his whole career, I cant acknowledge him.

He has still played more games than Kyrie. ;) I think we have enough guards, we desperately need more wings.

Mavs had a great draft, and great opening of FA, everything that happened since July 6th has been a colossal failure, they fixed these failures, it cost them 2030 swap, it cost them waiving McGee (last year's mistake), but at least they cut losses quickly and moved on.
I doubt anyone would've objected to McGee+Bullock+1st for PJW back then.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.

I'm a bit scared to know how much we gave to OKC for their FRP..

It was a hefty price to pay but at least we got rid of Grant Williams. His play was very poor and the fans had already turned on him. He was the twitter laughing stock. If PJ plays well it won't look as hefty.

This PJ Wash for GWms is just the same type trade when Mavs took a player Boston was glad to move on from to a player Charlotte ONLY started 17 games and will now elevate to a starter . He hasnt played well enough to become a starter just like GWms didn't play well enough for Boston to become a starter for the Mavs . What has PJ Washington done for Charlotte as only a part time starter to a starter now for the Mavs and also costing a FRP.

I like the fact that with PJ and Gafford they got more athletic....if they tighten up the D this team could once again be really fun to watch

Man i was set to go on a ski trip with my friends from church tomorrow, this has ruined my weekend plans. So frustrated right now. Giving up a barely protected first for PJ instead of trading Green.

Just admit he was a terrible draft pick already

I'm not too upset with the draft picks.
They can probably get one or two back in a Gafford offseason trade if they want.
This was a PO strategic move for this season.

Gaff is too good to be a long-term backup so I see them moving him in off season along with Hardaway for an upgrade.
A more suitable backup center should be easy to aquire in the off season.

Although I kinda agree with you, I have hope that PJ will improve playing with Doncic. If he becomes an useful player for the Mavs, I'll forgive Nico. It looks hefty But I'll wait and see. At least they made some moves and with the added bonus of getting rid of the casting mistake scrub Grant Williams.

How would trading Green for PJ improve Mavs playoff options? My friend, you have to think the other way around, Mavs don't care about anything else but to compete. They're not stacking up trade/draft capital, instead they're looking to keep players that worked out and get rid of everything else.

They basically traded dead weight and got back two potential starters and with this, bench also got stronger. If it works out Nico will look like genius, if not, Luka walks :D

If things don't work out they can trade Luka eventually and get all first back. :D
