Could we technically trade for Grant now if we wanted to?

Phoenix is killing it and Dallas blowing it. Surprisingly eventful deadline.

What dont you like about Dallas's moves? Just giving up too much? I think they are improving their team with Gafford and Washington.

Grant should marry that basketball player and become the stay at home dad.

I'm thinking Brad is gonna swoop in at the last minute and snag Konchar.

-Clearly he's got the Grizzlies GM's number on speed dial. When the initial Porzingis trade with Clippers fell through, he had to act fact and was able to get the deal done by looping in Memphis...and we just did the trade with Memphis for Tillman..Memphis has no problem doing us favors..as long as they get someone they really want (like Smart) or they get some 2nd round picks (like we sent them for Tillman)

-It's no secret Brad wants a wing

-I feel like adding someone like Bey, Lonnie or Kispert..I mean, I would do it but Brad is probably thinking that will mess things up in terms of the way roles are defined on this team. It would get a little hairy, and there would be some overlap that each of those guys would have with Pritchard/Hauser. Bey/Kispert/Lonnie are all bench shooters - we already have 2 of those (Hauser, Pritchard). I think it's less hairy, less overlap with Konchar. The roles would still be pretty defined.

Pritchard = combo guard who brings shooting, ball handling but undersized and can be hunted on D
Hauser = big wing (3/4 type) who can shoot, hold his own on D but with certain matchups he can be a defensive liability due to limitations w/ speed, strength, athleticism
Konchar = medium sized wing (2/3 type) who is more of a defensive minded guy..more of a guy who looks to pass and set his teammates up for scores, moves the ball, for a wing he is *really* good at rebounding and blocking shots, which brings a different element - something we don't already have..he's basically like a wing version of Derrick white (not as good, of course but much cheaper contract, requires less minutes than derrick)

And although his shooting is down this season, I'm optimistic about his shooting:

Catch and shoot 3's in the NBA
23-24 reg season: 33.3% (41.7% over his last 7 games)
22-23 reg season: 33.3%
21-22 reg season: 42.1%
20-21 reg season: 35.2%
19-20 reg season: 37.5%

3 FG% in college
18-19: 38.1%
17-18: 38.4%
16-17: 51.7%
15-16: 43.9%

Konchar is a veteran, has some playoff experience. 27 yrs old, will be 28 during the playoffs. He's a high IQ player, plays unselfish, makes the smart play, the right play. Good defender. Has the size/quickness/athleticism/strength to defend most guys out on the perimeter and can also block shots at the rim - and can block jumpers..

Konchar a guy we could bring in off the bench who could defend strong wings like Butler, Kawhi, Anthony Edwards and Jalen Williams, while also being able to provide value on offense..that is something we do not currently have on this Celtics team.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

They're selling out their future a bit, but honestly with Luka playing the way he is, I think it makes sense to try to go all in (ie, rebuild frontcourt) as much as possible, as soon as possible.

That makes Gafford and PJ Washington sound way better than they are, but another way to put it would be that Grant Williams is horrific.

Yeah I don't feel like PJ Washington is the answer to anyone's playoff push.

Brad Stevens has something sneaky up his sleeve or he is taking an afternoon nap. Don't know which one.

Is he a buyout candidate? Lol, Charlotte just took him on for salary matching and getting a first for PJ, right?

I'd sign Grant at the minimum!

can you use the TPE for Grant and pick up Williams lmao! In all seriousness, he'd do well with our roster though

He's been in CHA purgatory. I feel like there's some upside there to be a real player on a real team -- let's see?

Not that I want him to, but he still has plenty of time to get Saddiq Bey for $20M in tax and a late 1st or two 2nds, once he wakes up from his nap.

What happened to Tyler Bey though? I liked both of the Bey Boys in that draft.. (edit to add: playing in the Philippines after an 18-game NBA career and a couple of G-league seasons https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyler_Bey)

Perk just loves to hear himself speak. I feel bad for his coworkers when the cameras aren’t on.
