Love them, exactly what this team needed. Bargain bin isn't open anymore these days and the value is solid. They both address some of our major issues and losing Williams and Seth is not very impactful.

The moves are good, both needs filled, but the sour taste is that if it wasn't for the this offseason mistakes, it would've been much cheaper.

Look at all the other trades that happened though. Who else gave up firsts or even swaps? Mostly 2nds, but Nico is the one that caves and gives up firsts, and barely protects it at that

Don't care about the picks. Boston hasn't had a 1st round pick for like 4 years now. It's all about going all in now. As somebody said, we can get a gazillion picks if all these blow up and Luka and Kyrie ask to be moved.

Agree with everything but the last part.
If this thing blows up in our face, we'll need picks just to get rid of Kyrie.

The Lakers will be eager to offer two first for him in the summer,if he stays on the same good behavior

Kyrie was considered a cancer when we traded for him.
If he totally wrecks this team he will have negative value in he doesn't already.

And if Lakers are willing to give up 2 picks for him, Nico should accept that offer in the next few minutes.

Mavs have 6 players 25yo or younger with Luka.

Lively, Green, Hardy, Omax, PJ Washington, Gafford, Luka.... They got younger and more talented.

But like i said, they can still do moves in the off season and upgrade more.

If OMax develops into a solid 3 and D sooner than later I will be more than grateful. I believe it’s coming.

This report makes it seem official. Nothing from Woj yet but seem like it’s pretty much done

Getting that pick was a good move and makes losing some others not so bad.
I think Omax will make an impact next year.

There's still a big question how they pull off the first from Thunder?

It's on ESPN's page MacMahon reported it and Woj i think was first. So, apparently trade went through we just don't know all the details yet.

The fact the pick is top 2 protected speaks volumes on how desperate the Mavs are in making efforts to keep Luka. They must feel these moves are do or die in that sense.

Yeah, but they put the blame on Kyrie because he didn't wanna get vaccinated....what about Harden,he got off without the blame...they made Kyrie the scapegoat...Players in the league Love him

If we didnt give up any swap to OKC, then I'm starting to like the whole deal a lot more.

Maybe OKC actually gave up 1 FRP (Shams talked about draft compensation from OKC to CHA) to acquire Hayward and dump Bertans, then that pick was flipped to Dallas alongside 2 SRP via CHA in the PJ deal.
Something like:

CHA: Bertans + Micic + Mann + 2024 LAC 1st
OKC: Hayward

CHA: Williams + Curry + top2 protected 2027 DAL 1st
DAL: Washington + 2024 LAC 1st + 2 SRP

DAL: Gafford
WAS: Holmes + 2024 LAC 1st + 2 SRP

Ive seen one report Exum is close to coming back and he's been seen on the bench at games usually a good sign .

I can see a healthy lineup of :

PG) Luka 6'7"
PG) Kyrie 6'2"
G ) Exum 6'5"
F) PJ Washington 6'7"
C) DLively

6 '10" Gafford
6'5" Green
6'5" THJ
6'10" Maxi
6'6" DJJ

Hardy

But what other pieces of this magnitude got moved? It's our all-in now. You got Luka and Kyrie, now is the time to surround them with winning pieces and this is the best this roster has been since 2011.
We also still have Green and Hardy - which I know you hate - but clearly they value highly.

No point letting deals fall through over pick protections. This team is young enough to dominate for the entire applicable period for those picks.
And if it doesn't you blow it up and get 5 1sts back for Luka alone. No brainer imo, you gotta have the balls to go for it now.

A real coach would still be nice though.

At least on paper that's the most solid and well rounded roster we've had since 2011.

He'll return, play 2 games, then be out for 17. That who Dante Exum was his first NBA stint, and nothing has changed.

It's funny that in Europe, where they actually train in practices, he played over 75 games in a season

Return to Dallas Mavericks
