Celtics are also moving Dalano Banton to the Blazers for a 2nd round pick. Upgrade but probably won't move the needle, at least not this season.

It's not really good or bad for anyone, haha. It just is. At least Springer can play defense and has a little bit of future upside. Banton doesn't.

It's Chicago's 2024 2nd round pick which could end up in the high 30's. Would have rather kept the pick, but will give Brad the benefit of the doubt.

If so, that seems a wild overpay and a great deal for Philly.

Yeah it's a head scratcher. Had it been the Dallas 2024 2nd we own, it'd still feel like an overpay, but I'd be more comfortable since they won't bottom out.

Chicago could realistically end up at #37/38. Pretty big reach by Stevens that seems unnecessary. Should have just kept Lamar Stevens.

Aren't the Sixers down to 12 guys now? Did they request an extension to get the Drummond trade done?

Seems very confusing from the BOS end on the surface. You don't normally see a team contending like them trade a decent 2nd for such an unproven guy. But then again, he's young and has multiple years on his contract. If they like him, I guess it makes sense.

The new CBA changes rules on how and when teams can roster fewer than 14 players. For example, teams can have fewer than 14 players on a standard NBA contract for no more than 28 total days during the regular season and never for more than 14 straight days.

Yeah but somewhere in there they also talk about 13 being the roster player minimum. That wording above alone implies a team could go down to nine players or something if they wanted for a couple weeks, sign some prorated minimums, and then do it again. That kind of opening would be taken advantage of by cheap owners every year to save a few bucks.

Amazing defender. Really intrigued by this guy. Didn’t know much about him.
Only 21 yo and was a top 20 recruit in his class. Good college player. I don’t mind trading a good 2nd for a first round talent.

I remember 76ers fans on here claiming he would be the key piece in a OG Anunoby or Pascal deal saying Springer is an elite defender

TBF, I don't think there were many saying that. Just like the minority of Raps fans that were swearing the Raps weren't going to trade Pascal or OG.
