Raps are really bad, I think it will be difficult to not get top 6 pick. Even if they get unlucky and leapt and they give up 7th pick, its not that big of a deal as next year they will be in the 4-7 range again and we would have to do this whole song and dance anyways. At least they have 3 other picks this year and can move up if they want to I am sure. Awful trade yes, but not the end of the world really. The worst part of the trade is that they didnt tank for Wemby and tried to make the playoffs in 2023

What are you guys gonna do if the pick conveys this year, the Spurs draft a stud with the pick, and we improve just enough to pick later in the lottery like 11-13 next year and can't even get a top lottery pick anymore?

Anything can happen. There's nothing good about this situation. It absolutely is a big deal no matter how you try to justify it. Masai **** up big time.

He's not wrong. Tough to out tank the bottom now. Difficult to control if you're bottom 6, bottom 7 or whatever.

Lottery luck is going to be required.

Bobby sounds like he wants the pick to convey this year.

They really hate this draft, since they weren't willing to take on another pick in it from NY for Brown, and traded one to Utah.

They figure two picks is enough from this draft and they'd rather have the cap flexibility than guaranteed contracts for the rookies.

Flexibility in salary cap is only worthwhile if they're aggressive in maximizing its potential. Given recent history, I seriously question that.

They hate it so much they gave Siakam for 2 of them plus scraps and another just one future FRP. FO seems confused. I don’t think they even know what to think of this draft

I don’t mind conveying the pick but if that’s the plan then we need to start winning games and try to get into the play in. If we’re giving the pick this year, it better be in the late lotto/mid first round. That way we convey a lesser pick and also get at least some play in run. But the fact we waived Spencer suggests we’re not trying to win so idk at this point what the goal is

If healthy, I think we can take on any of the play in teams except for Miami. I think Orlando, Chicago, Atlanta, and Brooklyn are all beatable

At this point I’m just gonna watch and see what happens. Not going to waste my time rooting for wins or losses at least until we get a better idea of where this team stands after a month or so

They hate it so much they traded for 3 more draft picks in this same "crappy" draft.

With Siakam they obviously waited too long and that was what was available. Even if they hate this draft they were going to take the picks cause it was the best offer going.

I didn't get the impression that Bobby wanted to give up the pick this year. He just said that with the new lottery rules, it's very hard to predict what will happen and they will be prepared for both scenario's.

If the Raps really wanted to win and give up the pick they wouldn't have traded Dennis for literally nothing. I think their biggest priority is finding the right pieces around Scottie and if that leads to more wins or more losses in the short term, so be it.

Agree with this. Only thing confusing is why we kept Brown. I guess we want to see if we’ll keep our FRP before deciding what to flip him for.

same reason we always keep our guys. Mu asks for too much. He's not bright. Makes the same mistakes over and over
