Re: Buyout market
For short-term purposes, a forward would be super helpful.
For long-term purposes, I'd take a flyer on Hayes if possible, but I'm not sure he'd crack the rotation meaningfully.
The Bulls only hare $1.7 million to spend before hiring the luxury tax. So, though they have $6 million and change available before hitting the hard cap, I do not expect them to spend it. If they want to stay under the tax and can't outspend other teams, you have to figure the best buyout candidates are going to prefer to land with contender-level teams.
Of course, since AK apparently believes in this roster so much, it would seem appropriate for the Bulls to go into the tax to be more "competitive" for the stretch run, but I'm not holding my breath.

I could see Rolo coming back. He will be a good backup in case Dre opts out this summer.

Re: Buyout market
If Lowry gets bought out they should go after him. If not then Dinwiddie could be an upgrade as a backup 1 or Lopez as an insurance backup big would be nice.

No point in adding RoLo now when you barely have enough minutes for Drummond.

Re: Buyout market
I wouldn't mind Dinwiddie. I think he'd fit in nicely both on the court and in the locker room. He's not prime Zach, but he'd offer some good production in the back court as a replacement.
I've always liked Hayes' potential as well, but it's questionable if he's even NBA level talent at this point.

"Coach, why don't you just relax? We're not good enough to beat the Lakers. We've had a great year, why don't you just relax and cool down?"

We should be shopping the G-league market

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Not a buyout but I think having Darius Bazley on the end of the roster might add something.

Re: Buyout market
Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Robin Lopez would be decent scrap heap pickups.
We could have traded Drummond for value and then signed a steady vet like RoLo to fill his place.
Edit: Thad would also be nice to bring back as a vet PF/C, considering our lack of PFs. He fits well in that hub role.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

The Bulls have the DPE, part of the MLE and the BAE at their disposal. If AK is serious about being a competitive treadmill team, then prove it

The initial report says that the Lakers, Mavs, Pelicans and Sixers are interested in him, which makes me think he won't get picked up by the Bulls.
