Has anyone heard anything at all about any interest or discussions we had? If we get word that we were looking around and the price was too high that at least helps to know Weltman was on his jitterbug.

We will see what they do with it this summer before just resorting to complaining.... a lot can happen!

Trade window after trade window the same excuses are brought up. Assets wither on the vine, young players' windows shorten, cap space sits on the shelf, rivals improve, skill gaps remain, roster holes persist...

I just don't want to hear excuses. Its too depressing to think about what could have been.

I'm looking at this like we traded for AB to be our PG of the future

It’s the same every year.
„Maybe it made no sense for them, they plan something bit in summer. Let’s wait. A lot can happen“

….. nothing happens in summer ….

„maybe they plan to do something at trade deadline, let’s just wait and see. A lot can happen“

….. nothing happens at trade deadline …..

„maybe the other teams wanted something in return, so of course we did nothing, we never know if our players magically learn to shoot and change the style, so we might regret doing a a trade. Lets wait in summer, we have a lot of cap space, something will happen“

…. „nothing happens in summer ….

And on and on and on

Here are 3 truths and a lie.

1. Expiring Contracts don't have any trade value in today's NBA.
2. Nobody wanted Fultz, Harris, or Cole Anthony.
3. Weltman is the smartest and most savviest GM in the league.
4. Magic turned down all offers for Franz.

Can you find the lie???

Wow
I know he had some issues but man I remember the hype around him and how many people wanted him at 8 a few years ago (not going to lie, he was on my list) and instead we get Franz, who has shown to be a franchise changing player and this guy is getting cut

On one hand, I understand the disappointment. On the other hand, we really didn't have to do anything. We DO have to do something this offseason now, I will completely agree on that. We can't roll it back with the worst shooting team in the league. But aside from Murray (who the Hawks obviously weren't particularly motivated to trade, given the fact they did not trade him), nothing was going to significantly improve our fortunes right this second. We weren't going to be going from one tier up into the next. And isn't this literally the first trade deadline Weltman hasn't made a trade? Acting like this is the norm just isn't honest. In general, Weltman has been very conservative and only made a big change when he had no choice, and I understand the concern with that as we move forward. But in a vacuum, a lot of this rage over this trade deadline is very overly dramatic in my opinion.

If Washington was willing to trade Tyus Jones for an expiring contract and a second round pick (or even two), we would have seen it happen, because I'm sure they had multiple offers. For reasons we may not understand or agree with, it certainly seems like they just wanted to keep him.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

This would remind me of AG back in the day. I'd always see him working on his jumpshot hours before the game. Never really translated, lol.

Yea his handle is average at best

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

That’s why this mess of a roster is frustrating.. Do we even know if AB is a PG at this point

Anyone who thinks Welt stood pat because he’s going to spend this summer hasn’t been paying attention the past 7 years.

There's no one worth spending on this offseason. It will likely be some big money 1 year deals. Or 1+1. Next offseason is supposedly supposed to be the better year for FA. Imo, we won't improve through FA anyway. My guess is it will be through trades with all of our young talent and draft picks.

As much as I like AB he has shown FLASHES of talent and capability on a game to game basis as a rookie… that’s good.

HOWEVER what pissed me off about this deadline is that there is no playoff caliber point guard on this roster.

AB - not yet, no.
Cole - no
Fultz - HELL no

You have no business pretending to be a playoff team when your best option is developing in a rookie year. Paolo and Franz are put into difficult situations being tasked to do exponentially more on offense because of it.

Don’t be shocked, saddened, and surprised when someone decides to go to greener pastures because the FO is incapable of building something worthwhile because they are risk averse. Anything else is an excuse.

This dude is the guard equipment of Bamba. A guy that drafted for his size and length and not for actual basketball skill that people are overhyping in Orlando and literally nowhere else.

Well to be fair to Black, he does actually try on defense and is good there where as Bamba had no work ethic. But I’m not giving this guy any kind of role he doesn’t earn, I legitimately don’t know what some other Magic fans are seeing and I wish I could see it.
