Bouknight rode a good NCAA tourney into a high lotto pick.

I feel like it's fine we didn't do anything today, but now there is really no scenario where we should be quiet on draft night and just make our pick. We've got AB and Jett as guys that need to be integrated next year, our pick really needs to be shopped and used in a trade. If we do nothing on draft night, I will join the rest of you with being pissed.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Good because he sucks at both

This dude is the guard equipment of Bamba. A guy that drafted for his size and length and not for actual basketball skill that people are overhyping in Orlando and literally nowhere else.

Well to be fair to Black, he does actually try on defense and is good there where as Bamba had no work ethic. But I’m not giving this guy any kind of role he doesn’t earn, I legitimately don’t know what some other Magic fans are seeing and I wish I could see it.

I don’t see that at all. Bambi was never a competitor.

I agree with that and even pointed it out in my second paragraph. The comparison to Bamba was more about being a high draft pick based on size/length more than skill. Black’s appeal is that he is a 6’7 PG but the problem is he isn’t really capable of being a PG and creating offense for others or himself. He competes hard and has a good attitude, but his bag on offense is virtually nonexistent and with two future star level players to try and win around now I don’t feel like playing the wait and develop game. He shouldn’t get the keys without showing more. We need a veteran PG that isn’t Fultz and Black needs to take the job away.

He has shown some flashes but the Magic clearly don’t think he is ready to take on a bigger role at this time.

The biggest problem with AB is he’s not what we need. He addresses no weaknesses. And the guard rotation as a whole still sucks.

Are you related to him or something? You're taking it very personal as a Knicks fan.

He can't dribble, pass, shoot, or score like good PG should. There's nothing that says otherwise.

People like him here for his size and defense. The hope that he'll develop more while maintaining that level of defense is just that... hope.

ask me they should be getting integrated right now....the players in front of them isn't really showing a great reason as to why the rooks shouldn't be getting minutes

PG is probably the hardest position for a rookie to learn. Give AB time.

If we were a tanking team and not a PO chasing team, you can be sure AB would log a lot of minutes. Problem is, we cant risk the losses just to fully develop AB right away.

You can probably guess the reaction of PB Franz and Suggs when they are trying to win but our coach/FO wants to prioritize the development of a rookie

I think it’s too early for Bamba comparisons or being overly negative but I am a bit disappointed in how Black has been developed so far. He’s a #6 pick and his biggest offensive strength in college was FTR but he’s parked off the ball as an afterthought like he’s Keith Bogans. Like everyone’s been saying.. it’s difficult to win now and develop rookies at the same time.

If there was a guy who needs some G League run, it’s Black. This is a guy who averaged 13.5 ppg as a HS senior and 12.5 PPG as a freshman before being drafted at #6. He is clearly lacking confidence on the offensive end. The lack of spacing makes it even worse.

We don’t even know who he is as a basketball player, and honestly I’m not sure he knows who he is as a basketball player yet either.

It’s mental. Turning on the youngest guy on the squad who has the most upside is a wild take.

It's pretty simple, I mean, Black has shown a lot of nice flashes and he's still an extremely raw 19 year old and the posters claiming him and Jett and every young guy needs to run free but we also have to keep winning .. it's just going to be a lot of learning and unhappy fans because we've already started hot and there will be a lot of growing pains.

That being said, people saying he's a bust because they didn't like the draft pick are 100% wrong and biased. It's not who's the best the fastest as a rookie, especially when playing time is different for every young guy.

Raps fans went from calling Gradey Dick the worst pick in the 1st round to probably having him as one of their more promising young guys in the last two weeks. He's playing more now because they're tanking, but even mediocre squads aren't very gung-ho to give hand the reigns over.

I do want us to play them when our up and down vets are struggling though.

It blows my mind. The kid is a winner and it's obvious from watching. Some posters have been biased against him from the get go.
