Is this the lamest trade deadline ever? Is the Bojan Bogdanovic the most significant piece that was moved. Boo.

Assume you're just discounting the Rolo move because this is the ATL thread?

Question: is there a reason we can't put Thanasis on the coaching staff instead of taking up a roster spot? He's still on the payroll. Still travels with the team and keeps Giannis happy.

Auston Matthews? I mean, that'd be a hell of a get if they can make the trade work!

Man, as much as I wanted Nurse....one benefit is not having a coach who is going to just run our stars into the ground.

No, you drive it when it is needed. You don't use the Corvette to drive every where or the Corvette ends up at the mechanic often and dies quicker.

Bojan is more of a 4 at this point.

Celtics got Jaden Springer for a 2nd round pick from the Sixers .... Horst maybe we could use Jaden's athleticism on a 35y average team. Always good GMs like Boston and the Heat, pickup good players cheap.

Springer is shooting like 21% from three. You can’t play someone with Giannis when they are somehow a worse three point shooter than Giannis.

There's hope.

I'm not really sure what PJ was expecting. He signed a bloated contract with a player option. No team wanted that without getting something back. You can't have everything: Big money, Long-term contract with an option, AND ability to control where you are playing? If he wanted to a member of the Heat today, he could be but he was never going to give up his contract because no team would offer it to him again.

Textbook wants his cake and eat it too situation.

I certainly don't fault the Clippers for not just cutting him because his salary can be used in a trade this summer. Now if they don't find a trade and don't plan on playing him at that point they probably should release him.

I never like it but you can't still possess the cake after you eat it. It assumes people want a cake sitting around to look at?

I guess internet says "eat your cake and have it to", but that still is weird since that seems to imply you can't have a resource and use it up versus having the best of two different, mutually exclusive scenarios as is commonly used.

PJ doesn't have a realistic view of himself nor is he willing to leave anything on the table to go prove it, he couldn't have expected somebody was going to trade for him & his salary @ age 37 & out of the rotation. It was him or the Clippers that were going to need to give something back, no reason for the Clippers to do that but I'm guessing PJ disagrees.
