I wonder if 1. Gallo would be willing to come back and 2. If Brad would even want him back

Re: Buyout/Free Agent Thread, 2023-24
I'm overall pretty happy with the deadline. We picked up some D first guys for the cost of unused players and some scratch lotto tickets. Kept Jordan Franchise. Didn't overpay for guys that weren't gonna move the needle. My main complaint with Brad is there's not much to complain about.
Nobody else really killed it. Maybe the Knicks, but, it's more about OG and his injury than Bojan and Burks. I do think they did well, though. Royce/Roddy to the Suns is pretty solid for them, but it's not like we're not gonna see them in the Finals.
Detroit and Toronto were entertaining.
The PatBev / Doc reunion for Payne and a 2nd was probably the highest entertainment to talent ratio trade I can think of in a while.

Can't see there being minutes for him, but definitely a little unfinished business!

Does Oladipo have anything left? Can he draw fouls and score off the bench?

No to Gallo. Selfish streak.

Pat Beverly will be allowed by the refs to clutch and grab. It’s so dumb but guys like Draymond, Morris twins can shove guys all around like other players can’t.

My gut tells me that we'll use the TPE on a buy-out, cut someone, and elevate Q to the roster.

Your gut needs to read the CBA.
I kid, I kid.
Spoiler:
The TPE is only for trades. We can't use it to sign a buyout.
And it's functionally obsolete with the deadline passing and us being a 2nd apron team in the summer.

Can one use the TPE on a buyout this season?
Actually, it doesn't matter, as we still have the MLE available, should that become relevant.

You mean to claim on waivers? Otherwise TPE isn't needed....

Right. But there was also some change for teams low enough in the luxury tax tierings to be allowed to use their exceptions, like TPEs becoming a form of MLE or -- more likely -- MLEs having an alternative use of accommodating players in trades.
Whatever it was, it presumably didn't take effect already this season, or we'd have been hearing more about it ...

Sounds vaguely familiar, lol, but idk.
I think me and Colin's gut need to form a book club. Anyone else in?

I would have no problem with Gallo. At least he knows the system.
