Kobe was doing the arm in rim dunk years before Vince Carter.

Overall package was just below elite for the time. He was pretty elite at posterizing players though. He would hands down be the best dunker in today's game. He just couldn't shine as bright with Vince Carter walking around.

i think he might be the most creative in-game dunker ever. that includes not only aesthetically pleasing dunks but the sneaky ones he got on people by changing up speed and angle of attack, especially as he was getting older. he didnt have the absolute top tier 'im just gonna jump over you' type of dunks of the crazy athletic dudes but those type of dunkers didn't have the array of dunks that kobe had.

One of the better in game dunkers of his generation. Kobe in his prime can pull out monster dunks on the fast break and even in the half court.

Definitely in the top tier of in game dunkers. He just had this innate balance and body control which, mixed with supreme burst and athleticism, led to creative and unique looking finishes.

I’d say VC and Blake Griffin are the best I’ve seen in the last 20 years. Young LeBron, Amar’e, Giannis, Russ all had their moments in that tier as well.

Dr. J may be the best of them all, though.

“Kobe Bryant, with no regard for human life!!”

That saying was made famous by a dunk Kobe did.

off one foot or two, in traffic, in open court, half court set, crunch time, going left right and around, facials, every angle from 0 to 360, reverses from hell, on multiple dudes, etc etc. there are guys known as dunkers, even elite ones with more vertical than kobe, that can't do all this stuff and this variety of ways in the game as actually part of the play. not just some fast break wide open dunks but weaving through traffic and doing this stuff, and he'll flush it on your best defender in the playoffs.

This right here is one of my favorite in game dunks ever. Just very creative and smooth. And I'm a certified laker hater fwiw.

He was very good.

Perhaps a bit below some of the absolute best, but he had some monster dunks.

I could watch his baseline reverses over and over, you don't really see those anymore

He was a great in game dunker. One of the best.

Not the best when it comes to exhibition dunking. The Vince Carters of the NBA own that. It didn’t help Kobe that his hands weren’t that large.

I will die on the goat baseline in game dunker, you can't tell me otherwise. It is often disregarded but he had some very very nasty facials as well. He baptized Ming, baptized Howard, I was just watching the ben wallace one a couple of days ago ( frobe nasty af)

He has an argument for best in-game dunker ever. His body control and finesse just made him more capable of dunking from weird angles and different circumstances than just about anyone else.
