No interest in draft busts like Bouknight and Hayes. We need a guy who at least has a shot of contributing.

Not that these are significantly better options, but Justice Winslow, Darius Bazley I vaguely remember being fairly decent wing defenders and I believe they're out there on the FA market.

Stanley Johnson is also available.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

Cause he will  @$$ shove Bev under the basket for an easy layup. For sure we leave him open at the 3 but if he posts up Bev, its another mismatch to worry about. Help defense creates rotates and we are the oldest and slowest team to rotate minus Giannis.

Jrue can feel free to back down anyone he wants in the playoffs, he’ll miss the layups. Free stops.

imagine if we had kept bud. not made the dame trade and saved our assets for a murray trade

jrue/ beverley
murray/ grayson/ beasley
khris/ ajx/ green/ marjon
giannis/ jae
brook/ biyombo

better offense. better defense. and a coach who would know how to put it together.

sucks really when you think about it :(

+9.6 against Indy in 4 games. Looks like NBA's advanced stats don't include the 1 tourney game, though.

However that's of course also with Griff. This 5 man lineup in the 1-4 period with doc so far is +21.1 net but that's only two games because we've been missing one of the 5 so often recently.

Im dying at the thought of 2024 Jrue posting up Pat Bev in the playoffs being something we should be seriously worried about

In the playoffs, who guards Jrue? is very similar to ‘who guards Bledsoe?’

That team sucks. Look at Bevs minutes as a starter this year. Basically Jrue. I like Murray, but he's not close to Dame.

Agree. I why would we waste Bev on Jrue anyway? Just like early this year, we'll put Giannis on Jrue so he's free to roam.

Beas is a little more creative and that would be better suited in the 2nd unit.

I agree that Green (or Bev) should start, but Beas will be useless with the 2nd unit. He's needs the stars to open him up for shots. As a bench guy he'll go back to being the 53TS% guy he was last year. He'll look like he did last night.

If a decent option comes available, simply cut him.

Stanley shooting 44% from 3 in the G League. We'll probably just ignore that though like we did last year when we slept on Kris Dunn.

Acting like other teams' net-ratings aren't also padded by beating up on scrubs is always a weird stance to take. Funny because no one in the league is padding their stats against scrubs more than Boston, Cleveland, and the Knicks (63-5 combined vs. sub .500), while we're one of only 2-teams in the conference (Boston) with a winning record against teams over .500.

If our 5 starters are the best in the league then why is everyone freaking out on this board? There's something we see that goes beyond Net Rating or we wouldn't be so worried.

Giannis would have been livid about the absence of changes.

Definitely wouldn’t have signed an extension. Team would have been dealing with trade demand drama probably even after we’d acquire Murray midseason when the Hawks gave up on him.

Granted that is all different than your assessment of what could have been on the court. It’s fair to compare what would have been if Giannis hadn’t turned up the heat so much on the front office.

It's our bench that kills us, the starters have to play 40 minutes and run out of gas.

I’m still bullish on Dame figuring out how to be a Kobe to Giannis’ Shaq.

His athleticism is there. I’m confident Doc will get his head in the game where his shot comes back.

Also very much hope you are right about Bev. Idk about comparing him to Jrue by any stretch though. If he can play 20 something minutes and set the tone on D that’d still be huge.

Doesn't make any of us smart. We slept on Dunn so we could get the massive contributions of Dragic's carcas.

Stanley Johnson (who I was hoping for instead of Payne this off-season) for the final roster spot. Harry Giles for a 2-way.

Don't think either move is necessary but I'd find both of them interesting at least

I erroneously stated that Giles is eligible for a 2 way. He was before the season, but I'm pretty sure he's ineligible now that he was on the Nets 15 man roster this year. Sorry about that!
