Celtics Defeat Heat, Become Super Bowl Champions! Victory Cigar vs MIA 2/11

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:37 pm

Hell yeah you guys we outlasted those Heat suckers and won the big game hooray! Celtics Culture!

JT (near triple double) and KP (25pts on 14 shots) shredded the Heat defense, Jrue was a sniper, JB chipped in with some annoying plays and also some very big shots in the 4th (haha), Derrick did his thing and Pritchard was a great spark off the bench!

Both teams played hard and well today but the C's were just a little better on both ends, made some big plays to hold them off late, and swept the season series vs Miami. Great game, tough win, good job Celts!

Nets Tuesday, Go C's!

I’m convinced this iteration of the Miami Heat is the luckiest team of all time. The amount of tough shots they make at end of games ever since Butler showed up is just ridiculous.

Heat get away with so much defensively though. It’s like the refs know they’re at a talent disadvantage so they let them play as physically as they want.

18-8 in clutch time games this season for all the Joe haters too lol

A little too close for them having so many guys out. A win is a win, but we have to get better at late game offensive execution.

JT and KP get my votes.

Shouldn't have been this close without Jimmy then two other rotation players down. But whatever. We'll take the W. Two more games before much-needed ASB.

Voted JT and KP again.

This game made me very nervous. Not enough pick and rolls. Not enough back cuts. Not enough drives with finishes or drives and kicks. No where near enough GOOD PICKS. Actually, lots of lousy screens. Careless passes. Loose hands by Brown and Porzingis on the inside. Not a clear cut 1rst, 2nd, 3rd option with multi-actions (I'd say Tatum, Zinger and Brown but they don't run multi-action plays, they run isolations that often get trapped, double-teamed, or choked off). IF Heat had Butler this could have had a different result.

An alternative view:

Pts + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed Field Goals - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+31 Jayson Tatum 39 minutes
+26.5 Kristaps Porzingis 32 minutes

+18 Jrue Holiday 35 minutes
+14 Jaylen Brown 37 minutes 6 Turnovers DUMB
+10 Payton Pritchard 15 minutes

+6 Al Horford 25 minutes
+3.5 Sam Hauser 15 minutes
+2.5 Derrick White 38 minutes
+1.5 Oshae Brissett 2 minutes
0 Luke Kornet 2 minutes

They just need to put more inspirational quotes on the floor.

That should do the trick.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
Tatum, KP, and Jrue held this game together thankfully.

JB has to be better. Despite his faults, he's a top level player. Getting mixed up with bums like Duncan Robinson is beneath him.

Has anyone figured out why Adebayo gets away with moving screens and flops endlessly? It's Draymond Green levels.

Only reason this game is close is because of JB.

JB did it all in this game.

He missed FTs, he turned the ball over, and he made bad decisions.

The momentum started to shift when he was called for that flagrant.

I just hate Miami so much
Can't watch these games. Hack and flop. And the refs are just blind

Tillman will really help against a team like this.

**** the Heat. Corny ass ****.

Never seen a team get away with so much murder defensively and then cry so much when someone gets physical back with them.

Heat culture my ass

Would love to see someone smack Duncan Robinson’s ugly mother **** head

You guys are a tough crowd haha. We played a good game and the other team did too and we won. I'm not going to spend time ruining it in my head by thinking we should have won by more points.

Have a good rest of your day and enjoy the football game if you're into that sort of thing, Celtics pals!

JB kept killing the flow on offense, from start to finish. There was several passes he could have made at the start of plays to whip the ball around that he declined and just pounded the ball.

The moving screens from Bam is infuriating to watch when you see KP receive an offensive foul for moving half as much as Bam does.

S/O to Jrue for hitting big timely three after big timely three in a game where White couldn't hit anything. Threw in 6 assists with no turnovers just for giggles.

Zero confidence in this team in the playoffs if they can't fix their end game offense before then.

Voting KP for toughing it out with his bruised back and...other bruised body parts.
Spoiler:
thanks to Bum Adebayo
Great stuff from Tatum as well, despite Brown's best effort to throw it away.

A win and no injuries is good I guess. That's about it.
