Well remember this happened with Nick Nurse and Kawhi back in 2019. When he said that he told Kawhi that he needed to be more engaged. Kawhi said that was the first time he heard that, but appreciated it anyways.

Again I need to see the media availability first before I make any comments on this.

If someone said before the season, Barnes would put up 20/8/6/1/1 on splits of 47/36/77, I think nearly everyone here would've taken that.

Sometimes you need to step back and look at the big picture. Does he have flaws? Yes. Are there things he needs to improve on? Yes. Does he need to grow more into a leadership role? Yes. But overall, this season from a personal developmental standpoint, has been mostly a success.

Well you see he's an emotional malcontent, ornery, lazy team killer who's biggest flaw is...passivity, lacking in taking over the game because he's too busy trying to make passes to his teammates while being great all over the floor off-ball in his 3rd year as the best player in his draft class and an all-star.

Meanwhile "StarJ" who a big chunk of the board are saying is the #1 option, -42 in his minutes.

And people wonder why Barnes shows frustration?

Honestly I hope for the best with RJ, but I just don’t see the star quality that others are seeing. Like… he’s slow footed, not a great defender, and gets tunnel vision too much on offence. He might be starting for us now, but he’s best suited for a bench role IMO.

None of this **** is new. It's annoying and it's probably something that gets magnified for a fanbase and media group that's been spoiled for over a decade. And Demar went on to be a horrible defensive player who often complained and jogged back on defense.

Wondering where in that article (that you cannot even access anymore) was questioning his leadership or accountability? That entire page is talking about how Casey does not give handouts and was a "shock" to Demar not that he was struggling with it.

Lets get this out of the way - I like Scottie. Crazy concept for a stan to understand, but people are capable of liking a player and still be able to acknowledge his faults.

Scottie and Nurse have obvious beef about something, did you not see his interview following the Philly game?

But hey - i am sure Grange is just randomly writing articles about how the vets not liking the young guys (aka, Barnes) and he just made up that Masai sat Barnes down and had a discussion with him.

Grange is not in tune with what the FO is doing, but if you get pieces like this they are 100% directed by the FO to get some noise out there about stuff.
