We got crushed at home by a team that was favored by 2.5 points. Every point above that 2.5 can be attributed back to us coming up short of expectations.

That line was pretty fishy

Wtf, Oklahoma has the 6th best offense and 5th best defense. This team is one of the best teams in the NBA while the Magic are a middle of the road team right now.
True, but OKC will get destroyed in a playoffs with slower pace and lesser rotations. Teams like Denver or LAL or Twolves will just kill them inside and on rebounds

So they'll go down to an elite team. Not to a younger middle of the road team that probably needs another 2-3 years to figure it out from its roster construction to its star players ascending to another level.

Definitely the #1 priority...just like it was last year trade deadline, last summer, the draft, last week...
Last season Suggs was 30% from three, yet we gave him time and now he is a fine SG, this team is not a contender regardless of how many shooters you trade for. Stars are too young. Hope AB and Jett join the mix next season.

I was gonna blame the loss due to Jett not playing, but then he did.

Just gotta tip the cap. Very good team we played tonight. Gotta dig deep and bounce back tomorrow.

Ingles and Fultz (tired of talking about him) are getting to near unplayable levels. Tired of Cole being inconsistent and Gary Harris offers nothing.

It's less about getting elite shooters and more getting rid of our terrible shooters. We don't need the best, we just need better.

Exactly. We all saw the triple team on PB and when he passed out our 3pt shooter just bricked it. That is the cause why we aren't a championship contender status yet.

I agree with RookieStar and JF5. What a shame that the 2nd worst player tonight, Cole Anthony, has been so bad for a while now too. It was too much when the two main initiators, Cole and Franz, were so bad that tonight that it was all massive cringe whenever Paolo was sitting. If it wasn't for Mo Wagner, it would have been even more obvious.

All I was hoping for was to not get embarrassed and we ended up getting punked and humiliated. Maybe however with the all the Magic ownership watching and all these people in person and national TV they will spark some serious aggressiveness in the offseason to improve shooting because this is beyond ridiculous how awful it is now and has been for a decade. I’m fed up.

We can still point out the weak links on our team.

I think you are wrong personally. No one has said OKC is a bad team. They have a true 3 headed giant. They are a powerhouse. It's not that they beat us, it's that they used the same recipe every playoff team has against us.

What people often just keep talking about is our terrible shooting. And we get one game on TV and half the time they are talking about us being exploited from our terrible shooting.

We had multiple expiring/picks going into free agency , everyone on the board pleaded for management to make a move and bring in some shooters. What did we do as the worst shooting team in the NBA? Stand still.

I honestly think the venting and critisism is well deserved (from the fans and the media) this front office should absolutely be on the hot seat.

We are going to likely get absolutely blown out in the playoffs and that isn't good enough and wont keep your stars around.

This is the exactly what's going to happen time and time again, teams will zone us, take away our driving lanes and watch us brick it.

We are the opposite of the team Van Gundy brought to the finals. We wont be as good as our record in the playoffs.

I still have Fultz far away down the list of worst players on the night. I think he defended better than anyone for us on the perimeter. A couple of possessions where he was the piece to score from the developing action, he actually did albeit one was with a dime down low. He just takes some flak because his fit with the team is just obviously not there and it's not his fault. He's still a starting level PG in defense, passing, and solid at attacking.

Had a chance to get a head start on restructuring the team at the deadline.... Wanted to stand pat and keep the family together for a play-in/off run... This team isn't viable enough to make noise, we got a whole team full of streaky shooters at best.... Embarrassing, at least we didn't lose to the spurs but still.... You'd want a better account of yourself on national TV... Only to have the play by play clown you and point out the most obvious problem everybody can see except our front office.

OKC came in to prove a point. SGA/JWill know the duo or Franz/Paolo….. They made a statement.

They are for real this year and the Magic are not in that conversation yet.

Bye

Speaking for myself, I don't mind the L. OKC is a great young team. At the opening tip, SVG hyped the game as "the two best young teams in the NBA". That felt awesome. OKC is better...I think 100 out of 100 knowledgeable fans would agree. But the quality of the loss was awful.

but to continue to lose the same way, for the same obvious glaring reasons is maddening. Sorry I put my pom poms away. Better hope Paolo doesn't get tired of carrying this load and getting banged around every night. He's not blind and you'd have to be to not mad dog Weltman on your way to the cold tub...never mind, Weltman's in the Caribbean after a busy week.

Not sure why are you are fine getting punked on the first nationally televised game in 12 years. People have become to apathetic and allowed the front office to slide by with minimal effort.

We are fine. We are the 4th youngest team in the league. i think tonight's game is a preview of what Playoffs are like for us. It is going to be tough. Franz and Paolo are just not good enough. Don't forget. We hold all our draft picks plus we have more than 35M in Cap Space. We can still upgrade the team. But I am not holding my breath. As Franz and Paolo's contract extensions kick in, it is going to be tougher and tougher to upgrade the team. Some might believe in organic development. But I am a fan of more aggressive development, like trades

That game was really hard to ignore for Weltman. Really embarrassed on national TV. Announcers constantly mentioning the Magic need shooting to be competitive. OKC had a phenomenal shooting game but really showed what a well constructed team looks like. If they get a rebounding center and move Chet to PF they'll be competing for the chip.

Criminal we didn't get T. Jones and Kispert for probably Fultz, Chuma and a 1st round pick. Weltman probably didn't want to give up an extra 2nd rd. Small move but really would have improved the team.
