Re: PG: Refs and Thibs f*Ck us
Don't give a single f*ck about this loss as I already adjusted my expectations of the Knicks to those of a lotto/.333 winning % team, once Randle and OG both went down.
I'll still post here but I'm not watching a game for another 5 weeks, when Randle and OG return, and iHart is actually healthy.
Brunson is good, but it's not a good team without those guys. Knicks have weird depth. It exists, but it's not that great.

Nonsense. He was dead serious about going to the Nets. He didn't care as long as he got his supermax. That's all he wanted.
I can assure you, he absolutely did not want to play in Newark on that that garbage ass 24 win Nets team in 2010![]()

^^there is no way he was going to choose this slop over that squad the Knicks had with Amare. He wanted his cake and to eat it too.
I would love to hear more of that interview but, saying he didn't want NY and back then he said he'll go to the Nets... He wanted whatever team took him and paid him. He wanted that money over everything else. He didn't give two shyts about our HC or the system we played. He didn't give a shyt about what it cost to get him. He wanted that Max deal before the CBA expired. I believe they were already talking about moving to Brooklyn then too. Either way... He wanted his money over everything else.

Obviously, he can’t play with Brunson too. Too short. Not a real pg too. He would look so bad without a three point shot. Not too hard to replace. We have two draft picks.
I agree with all that but then what was the point of signing him for 3 years. He’s gonna be around in some capacity for a while. Either off the bench or an injury reserve. Burks is expiring and probably won’t be back next year anyway.
To put the salary in a trade. Same for Sims.
His salary is minuscule though. Wouldn’t be surprised to just see him hanging around here for a few years sometimes in the rotation sometimes out.

Lost in all of this is that Josh Hart had a sick game. It's the Rockets but the dude is a special player in some games and overall just impactful. Hopefully he can steal some backup PG time because he is a decent playmaker, great rebounder, and good finisher. If he can get hot with his shot, watch out.

You guys don’t understand… Precious is a great defender and Thibs loves him. I don’t see him being benched in the playoffs… even for Mitch.

This one MIGHT be true because he's a big big and plays D. Thibs loves that. It's the non-bigs that he starts to sour on if they can't do this or that.
But, he loves Mitch.

He's ok as long as he doesn't play more than 20 minutes

Listen, we are categorically not winning the challenge. The NBA loves to screw the Knicks.
But in this case, probably nothing can be done anyway.
But let's be real - who wants to go back to Houston to play OT and get MORE terrible calls? Take the L, move on.

I know I've been a bit glass half empty lately, but I watch Precious, and I see a guy get outrebounded routinely when he plays C, gets the ball snatched out of his hands, sets crappy screens, and generally does 2 or 3 dumb things a game.
On the other hand, he plays some nice defense at times, does accumulate rebounds (who else is going to get them), shows some nice fluidity on offense sometimes...hits a 3 now and again.
He's ok. There are a bunch of guys like him in the league.
And listen, no disrespect to Donte, who has been really good, but if a poster were to collect the names of guys who people said "looked pretty good", like Hart, Donte, Precious, Sims, even Burks and Bogs, and then add Brunson to the list, who IS legitimately VERY GOOD, then the team would, like, be winning actual games.
Except they aren't winning sh*t. And won't be. Because? Because besides Brunson, all those guys are "ok", but ok isn't good enough, because most of the rest of the NBA has a couple of Brunson level guys to go with their ok guys.
It doesn't mean the players are bad. Not at all. It's just maybe they are "ok".
In the NBA, it's generally who has the several very good players that win the games. Everyone has some ok players to play.

Thibs is turning him into a valuable trade chip
