Tried going back to it given my faith in the story, but just couldn't stick with it. Oh well.

Last Epoch in 10 days.

Yeah that’s fair. It feels like DMC a lot and that’s a very different style. The story is an easy carry though. Highly recommend watching one of the compilations on YouTube. Really well done. I’ll probably try and get back to the dlc this year(maybe we get another).

Rebirth into Dragons Dogma has me very excited though.

Last Epoch looks amazing. I might give it some run, but I have a hard time sticking with games like it/poe

Oh, good tip on watching a story breakdown. I am curious to know what happens.

Rebirth > DD2 is indeed exciting. Not sure how I'll manage the Last Epoch > Rebirth yet. I'm guessing I pick-up Rebirth immediately, though. Would be hard not to.

How much content is Last Epoch expected to have? I’m guessing they’ll have a seasonal model like other ARPGs

If you aren't an ARPG power-gamer, there's been more than enough content for about two years now actually. The end game eventually gets repetitive, but we're talking like after hundreds of hours. The campaign is fully detailed now (a lot has been reworked since I last played early 2023 actually), itemization and crafting is absolutely fantastic, there's a ton viable build possibilities, and you don't need a guide or degree to play it. It's really in a great place. I will very roughly guess, for a new player, that you're looking at 40-50 hours-plus on a new character to go through the campaign at a normal-person pace, and eventually ramp-up to getting to and beating the end game boss for the first time.

1.0 won't have new end game content or a league of any kind, but that is coming and will be their model. Their rough plan is 3-4 releases per year, and I believe they play to target the midway point-ish of POE (which doesn't sound like it matters to you).

You mean you don’t know how to manage Baldur’s Gate 3 > Last Epoch > Rebirth > DD2 :)

You gotta get back in there; it’s already my fifth most played game on Steam in the 13+ years I’ve had an account. All the other stuff can wait.

Props for your discipline, but my brain likes new shiny thing. I don't like waiting when a new thing comes out. I've tried it before and I just can't do it. So thankfully there's less new stuff this year - still good stuff, but not as breakneck. This past week would have been great for it, but I've had zero time :(

The Microsoft news this week was interesting with their exclusives rumored to come to PS5. Makes me wonder if their future is in software and not hardware. Or maybe just like a streaming box and not a big, expensive (in R&D) console to go along with it. They're third in hardware for basically two generations in a row now; MS certainly doesn't need XBox hardware, so just makes me think they they could try steering into the future and cutting their losses, so to speak.

Have zero confidence EA doesn’t bork NCAAF 25. I still went to Target today to get a console and ended up buying a PS5 and an Xbox Series X. No idea which one to keep. Had a PS5 and sold it last year. So I have some digital games. But wouldn’t mind Xbox game pass ultimate on both my PC and a console. Someone convince me.

Both my PS5 controllers get about an hour on a full charge. Total sh*tbox.

This is pretty wild? I at least get like 4-5 hours on a charge, including Returnal which does tend to use all the features of the controller. Maybe I don't play enough

When I had a PS5 last year I got plenty of charge on mine. I do have an Elite controller I use on PC.

My SO got me Super Mario Wonder for Valentines, which was hype. Another game in the backlog behind finishing BG3.

I kind of don’t need it, but one of my buddies picked up Tekken 8 which is making me want to pick that up…

Any of you guys play Rimworld? Apparently I bought it at some point but never played it. I'm looking for a time waster when it's dead at work and this seems like a good possibility.

I haven’t, but several friends have it. If you like sim/base building/survival games you’re about to lose hundreds of hours.

Rimworld is like crack. You can quit, you can retire from committing horrendous war crimes, free child soldiers, take that old man as a slave, and build that perfect burn tunnel to dispose of the bodies.

Rimworld is just like crack

I don't know if you're exaggerating but that's nuts if you're serious lol. I probably only have to charge my controller like once a week if I'm playing heavily. I reckon it lasts around 8-10 hours.

My wife and I have been co-oping Mario Wonder and It Takes Two on our Switch together. It Takes Two is excellent as everyone knows but we're having a blast with Mario too.
