He's capable of playmaking and can hit the occasional three and has the ability to finish at the rim from time to time. The ideal guard to complement Duncan/Herro, he has size and offers defensive support to mask them, while also being adept at ball-handling on offense, setting them up for catch-and-shoot threes.

As if Jaime doesn’t take advantage of every post mismatch already, Delon is gonna design even more favorable matchups for him through manipulating defenders off the ball. If you pass out of a good matchup he’ll immediately throw a chest pass back to you with some mustard and force you to attack. He’s pure PG in a pass first and POA defender vein.

When they pulled out the Kobe comps my mind was blown. How this kid went 18th will always be unbelievable to me. Not really though NBA GMs aren’t exactly neurosurgeons but damn.

Thanks for calling him in a true PG. Been waiting for Twix to come in and call him a shooting guard

Nah lol, Spos got some tough decisions to make because there’s no way you cut out your best/most impactful shooter in Duncan.

You can play Bam, Jimmy, Duncan, Herro, Delon; Could be the starting lineup after the break

Wright / Rozier / Alondes
Herro / Duncan / JRich
Butler / Jaquez
Jovic / Caleb / Highsmith
Bam / Love / Bryant / Robinson

If Jimmy comes back we'll have Wright now who can do the Gabe Vincent duty and just harass the other PG defensively without having Highsmith/Caleb starting. This move favors Jovic to start.

Gonna be a tough decision from Spo when Terry comes back. I think it might be a good idea to bring him off the bench.

We know Spo is not gonna bench Herro even though Duncan fits the starting lineup more.

I agree. Screams Lakers. But don’t forget that Iggy played a couple seasons here and could get in Klay’s ear about what it’s like in South Beach.

I agree with you, however there's no way I see that happening with everyone healthy, he will be the first guy 6th man off the bench and sit Herro in the first 4-5 minutes. Just like Jovic won't be seeing a single minute when everyone is healthy, unless a starter gets hurt again. If Jimmy doesn't want to start playing at the PF from the get go, it could a be a lineup you see during the game staggered or to close the game.

That depth chart tells me the final 2 spots in the top 10 of our rotation I’ll be between Jovic, Highsmith, Jrich, and Wright, I think Jovic and Highsmith are out and Vade was on to something.

Wright/Rozier
Herro/Jrich
Duncan/JJJ
Jimmy/Caleb
Bam/Love

For those of us who haven’t had the time to really watch the game as we used to, is this a move that will actually help us or is more of the same?

Heat 2024 is a whole lot better than Heat Finals 2023. What are your thoughts?

2024 vs 2023

Bulter 2024 Worst than 2023 Better But playoff Jimmy will be back.
Bam 2024 Better
Herro 2024 Better
Duncan > Strus 2024 Better
Rozier > Lowry 2024 Better
Calab Martin 2024 & 2023 Same
Love 2024 Better
D.Wright > Vincent 2024 Better
Oladipo = J.Rich 2024 & 2023 Same
Jaime Jaquez Addition 2024 Better
N. Jovic 2024 Better
Zeller > Bryant 2023 Better
O.Robinson 2024 & 2023 Same
Highsmith 2024 Better
Dedmon 2023 Worst
Haslem 2024 a big lockroom Loss

This year team is so much better. Good enough to return to the East Conference Finals.

This signing moves the needle a little for sure. We needed a guard POA defender BAD. Now we have one (arguably one of the better ones) and he is also a very good/smart playmaker as you see with his insane assist to turnover ratio and can hit 3s as well as attack and provide rim pressure. I’m sure several contenders wanted him bad but prior connections helped us seal the deal.

We have been forcing Caleb and Highsmith on all these smaller quick 3 level scoring guards and while they’re very good defenders it’s still a weird matchup for them because they’re not naturally guards and are best suited for guarding 3s and 4s. While Wright Caleb and Haywood are all 6’5, wright is 20 pounds lighter than Caleb and 35 pounds lighter than Highsmith, he’s much better suited to guard PGs and SGs

I'm just waiting to see that lineup of the following deployed against Milwaukee (especially) and Boston.

Wright
Herro or Duncan (Richardson if he's hitting 3s that game would be perfect because of his defense)
Jimmy
Highsmith
Bam

When Rozier is healthy, he will start and career backup Delon will come off the bench. Book it.

Knowing how Spo operates I agree but he has some pieces to throw some interesting lineups out there to muck up games like the one I just listed earlier.

Return to Miami Heat
