No, they couldn't. We wouldn't have made the trade if Mathurin was to be included.

No. Pacers would have given up Mathurin if Raptors played hard ball. But Raptors played very soft in this case and hurt the future of the franchise.

Never forget Duke didn't know how to use Dereck Lively II last year.

Not at all.

The Pacers would have just waited until the offseason to try to sign him then.

You don't trade blue chip guys like Mathurin for players like Siakam. No shade towards Siakam but you're getting back a superstar for a package with Mathurin

Nico Harrison has already admitted they got lucky with that pick. They had no idea he would be as good as he was because there was no way to tell with the way he was used at Duke. His career high at Duke was 13 points and they had him taking 3s

His mother played center at Penn State and had been teaching him the position since he was very little. Dallas was kind of shocked when he showed up with good fundamentals. Something high school prospects should think about before committing to Duke

Okay, hearing him not mention Dirk as the best big man shooter is just ridiculous. This dude is a moron.

It's still a bit tilting that the Pacers didn't have to give up a single prospect in the trade especially with the surplus of them they have.

I understand that but that's what happens when there's a risk that the player is a rental.

The baseless assumption is that Mathurin could be had. The Pacers were very clear that they weren't going to include him in any trade package for Siakam.

What the... Mathurin isn't bad, but nobody is giving up a superstar if he's the main piece...

I think that is why he said “package.” Like when the Suns traded for Durant, they sent a package of Bridges and picks for him. Pacers in their current position would only move Mathurin if they can consolidate him with other picks and pieces for a major upgrade.
