Yea. max was 30 points. You had 5 racks of 5 balls with the last ball on each rack being an ABA style red/white/blue ball that was worth 2. So each rack was 6 points max (5 racks for 30)

Then they went to allowing a player to turn one rack into all money balls (so that's an extra 4 possible points). Max 34.

Now you got 2 extra 'starry' balls worth 3 points. So the max is 40.
