Just because we live in these smaller cities and enjoy it doesn't mean a millionaire athlete feels the same. These dudes are use to big city bright lights. They don't want to spend their in season vacation in a cold city with not much attraction.

These guys come for the parties anyway. Why not do it in a attractive city.

The location of the game doesn't matter. Players are going to half-ass regardless.

And besides, who cares what the players want? They get paid to play the games. The All-Star weekend is meant to be for fans to see the top players play against each other. Not those players getting a cushy weekend to party in LA or whatever. They can do that in their own time.

You get the regular season to see your favorite players. Who wants to pay money to see players half ass a game?

A better location would at least make the players more happy. This is a mini vacation for them. Guys not trying to spend 3 days in cold Indianapolis. Hell LeBron didn't show up until the last day.

Now there are people saying the problem is the city where the game is played?

And, worse yet, they say the players should now decide which city the ASG should be played, with only a few "selected" cities being able to participate?

Come on...

Like I said, if the all-star weekend is for the fans, the message from the players' association is loud and clear.

He only tried on offense when the game was out of reach.

He was a traffic cone per usual on defense.

What? Are you telling me unlike every other player on the court KAT was playing bad defense???? Crazy!

Can anyone tell me why KAT shot 35 times that game?

This is what happens when you go from Kobe to LeBron, a change of culture for the worse.

Stark reminder that what dedicated fans think is a failure, isn’t necessarily so to these for-profit owners. Viewership up 20%, why would anyone expect owners to prioritize “fixing” this weekend?

The NBA All-Star Weekend is being dubbed the worst of all time. Lots of links to share on the matter:

Have to agree on this. Wouldn't be surprised if the owners express their disdain over All-Star Weekend by imposing a lockout. They could even cancel it if they wanted to, which is what many sports and beat writers have even suggested. When was the last time the league ever cancelled an All-Star Game because of outrage, and not due to a lockout like in 1999?

Some have gone as far to say that the NBA as a whole is unsalvagable, and are yearning for the iron fist days of David Stern. To the point people have called for Adam Silver to resign and be replaced with a commissioner who will be as hard and stern as the commissioner before him.

Something is clearly wrong with the NBA, and all it took for the world to realize this was a 200-point game. It's the Covenant High School game of 100-0 all over again.

stretch out the in season tournament from nov to december. have the quarter finals and semi's in january. and have the final at all star sunday. ditch the all star game altogether - just introduce them. but make the game mean something like it will for the 2 teams in the finals.

Towns is a Dweeb who happens to be tall and talented at basketball. Every cell in our body tells us to attack him physically and emotionally. If we were in school we'd want to laugh at him and trip him whenever possible.. and his smile makes us want to punch him because he's socially awkward and doesn't get the hint that we don't want to be his friend.

All I can say about this game is that at least he was trying. The other players didn't' want to play hard so they threw him the ball. Cant complain about his scoring when others chose not to. I'm just mad that Ant didn't get any run when i know that he hawks for every camera after a dunk to get his followers up.

You sound like a real hard man. The stereotypical high school bully that was probably breastfed til he was 8.

What a reaction lol wish I saw this sooner. The same way you felt the urge to try and be cool is no different, people have different reactions to others showing weakness. I was just being overly dramatic. But sorry for getting my daily meals at your place for so long, I kept getting asked to come back.
