Do you remember Richfield Coliseum where the Cavs played? They put it between Cleveland and Akron and it fail miserably with the suburb arena concept. Although maybe that is what got LBJ interested in basketball. We could very well end up with a Richfield Coliseum here in Minnesota.

That's not just the suburbs, that's the boondocks. That's like building an arena in Becker or Monticello.

I'm 99.9% sure any suburbia arena would be within the 494/694 loop.

Yes, in Richfield, next to the big Best Buy :D

If they're going to the suburbs I can almost guarantee they're gonna want to be on the light rail. Eden Prairie and Bloomington would seem logical.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

We’ve had this conversation before.

I still like the idea of that lot just east of MOA with a skyway between the mall and arena.

Plenty of parking. Games usually start when the mall is slowing down. Airport is close, tons of hotels, restaurants, and I’m sure the 4th floor night life would expand a ton with an event center right next door.

Need more parking? Turn that north lot into another ramp. If Lore wants a city, an arena and a world known mall isn’t a bad start.

I figured that's why I didn't go into a huge schpiel. I like the idea though.

The only thing I'd be curious about is if he'd prefer to have an area that they can develop themselves as opposed to a good chunk of it already there.

Speaking of, have the Vikings had success developing the area around TCO?

I really haven't studied it but if you're talking within sky way distance to the MOA you're going to be highly restrained on what is and isn't even available. In a perfect world you tear down and build up, but more than likely existing infrastructure and more importantly, cost, will dictate most of that.

Build what you can, use what you have to as best as you can. Most importantly build with the ability to remodel and renovate.

I think the main area people think of around MOA is the block directly to the east. It's former blacktop parking, but I think it's been unused for at least a decade. The light rail actually goes directly around the block too, so it would be seemingly perfect. I also see what looks to be vacant land south of Old Shakopee Rd as well if they wanted further development for maybe a training facility or something else.

I'm not scared of either Dallas or Phoenix. We can match up with either.

I don't know if Dallas is scarier than other teams. Suns can get hot, I haven't seen us stop Booker yet. They aren't going to win a lot of game like Celtics but is extremely capable to win 4 out of 7 from any team as one of the big 3 could go nuts.

I supposed we should root for Clippers tonight vs OKC since we still have game vs Clippers to control our own destiny.

Suns are just way too small to me.

Moreover, two of their key role players "spacing" the floor around their respective stars are Josh Okogie and Derrick Jones Jr. THAT will get exposed in the playoffs.

Every time I watch OKC, I keep thinking Jaden McDaniels should be playing like Jalen Williams on offense. Also, If we had to trade Towns to lower our cap numbers, we should trade him to OKC for that Minnesota rookie kid + some 1st round picks that OKC can't use. He at least look like can stick around the league and help sell some tickets

That game says far more about Phoenix's lack of depth than it does anything about Dallas

Yes, Suns without one of their big 3 is a very avg team.

And at this point, I'm not sure you can count on a healthy Beal

Wiggins is getting serious, actually ran down the court twice in the 1st qtr.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
