What are you hoping to see from the rest of season?

Now that the trade deadline and all-star break is behind us.

What do you want to see from the rest of the season?

Keep the draft pick through lottery luck or make the playoffs. Anything in between is a disappointment.

As for players, see IQ show what he can do, see Scottie continue to be the man and excel, pray RJ remembers to bring his brain to each game (low ball basketball intelligence is the only reason I can come up with why he continues to have off games when he is forcing the issue), see Agbaji make some 3s, and hope Dick continues to improve/doesn't return to a flaccid state.

See progress and chemistry develop among the young players, especially Barnes, IQ, Barrett, Dick. The lottery balls will do lottery things.

Try to compete every night and convey the pick this year.

Just overall growth of the new core. If they're within striking distance for a play-in spot (1-2 games behind), that's something to look forward to next season.

Somewhere between development and consistency. Play people like Olynyk and Poeltl to establish consistency and a good forum for development.

Give high minutes to players like Dick and possibly more minutes to Milk Carton, JFL, Porter etc to see what we might have

Just want to see development and some solid chemistry built between Scottie, IQ, RJ and Dick.

Keep giving minutes to Ochai and see what we have. The defence is there, I would like to think someone who averaged 18.8 points in college should eventually figure out a role to play on offence.

I just want to see the young guys (Barnes, Quickley, RJ, Dick) starting to learn how to win together and for us to be in some competitive games to build momentum for next year

Player and coaching improvement while simultaneously losing

In terms of that improvement, it is mainly related to figuring out how to play with one another for the players and for the coach figuring out better game management while also getting the players to compete on defense and applying the defensive principles that were supposed to be applied. Poeltl needs to be more accountable as an interior defender on a nightly basis and RJ and Quickley need to figure out how to improve on that end.

I am also hoping to see a strong finish to the year by Dick and better body language from Barnes even when the team is getting pounded.

Convey the pick on a weak draft.
We are pretty much tanking next year anyways, and we are clearly more than a star player away from being good.

Also, the strategy of last few years have been acquiring younger players in FA, and it failed every year with a poor bench. So I am not looking forward to the cap space for FA. That being said, I think our best option is to get a 1st option from the draft after next year.

Growth from BBQ Dick. That is all that matters in the grand scheme of things.

Mostly continue focus on development and develop chemistry between BBQ as they will(likely) be playing the most minutes now and the future for this team.

However don’t waste time trying to fit a square peg into a round hole like in the past. For example when we had OG trying to iso and create sometimes when he clearly just doesn’t have any signs of that skill set.

The end

Only half joking... Hopefully we see Scottie mature a little and continue to develope. Would also be nice to hit some lotto balls as well to give us a boost in the draft. Otherwise we'll see next season where we are and who can elevate their games.

Largely the second option, but we shouldn't be setting a goal of 'finishing 7-12'. Develop, and finish wherever we finish - could be bottom 6, could be play-in, could be anywhere in between.

The whole point of development is that it's about building, not present results.

Before the trades I would have advocated for tanking but considering how BBQ is apparently the core foundation upon which the team will build upon I now would rather focus on team and player development. Play the young guys who will be here next season and focus on development over wins (and losses). Don't worry about losing the draft pick this year.

BBQ Dick sounds like the name for a new street food sold before Raptors games. Eat a Dick... a BBQ Dick.
