Fun exercise! Kinda depressing realizing I've watched all of these guys live lol:
PG: Alvin Williams - Balances the starters with best POA D, big guard, rotated well, smart, could guard most wings too (big)
SG: Vince Carter - Can't win a chip without elite scoring talent; hopefully his head would be on straight
SF: Tracey McGradey - He was almost fully baked when left; solid D to mix with his scoring/passing acumen
PF: Chris Bosh - Easy call at PF; still all time Raps leader in blocks, boards
C: Marcus Camby - Best shot blocker in franchise history (3.7bpg year before Knicks); I'm assuming health isn't an issue
Bench:
Doug Christie: remains criminally underrated; ran point often with good D and smart O, still Raps top 10 in assists and steals
Demar: offensive hub on the 2nd unit; would cook while Doug picks up the tougher back court assignment
Donyell: ahead of his time; effective PF because he could board (8.7rpg, 3rd all time ahead of Jonas) as well as he shot the 3 (41% as a Rap)
Jonas: need at least one big, bruising 5 for matchups and his efficiency around the hoop, FT shooting and rebounding are reliable
Jose: he'd excel on a skilled team; I cried watching him on the Raps after watching the beautiful hoops he played on the Spanish national team. Best organizer of the half court outside of Kyle, hyper efficient (50/40/90 etc.) and not nearly as bad defensively as his rep. Wouldn't play much behind Alvin/Vince/Doug/Demar, emergency mins
I'm sure I'm forgetting others - MoPete, Jalen Rose, Anthony Parker, Yak - would accept arguments for any
Antonio Davis and Damon - I want to play vs. the teams who play them (especially start lol), I don't think they'd even make the league today.
