Torii Hunter Interested In Signing With Dodgers
19th November, 2007 - 6:05 am
The Press-Enterprise - Free agent center fielder Torii Hunter is interested in signing with the Dodgers.

"The Dodgers are definitely near the top," Hunter told Yahoo! Sports. "With Joe Torre there, things have got to change. He's bringing his history with them. I'm telling you, they're going to start winning."

Hunter, 32, hit .287 with 28 home runs and 107 RBI during an All-Star season with Minnesota Twins. He also stole 18 bases and won a Gold Glove.

Very interesting indeed, but where does this leave Juan Pierre? I mean not that I care about Pierre, but we paid the guy $45 mil for 5 years so it is doubtful he will be on the bench.

I also do not want Ethier or Kemp to get playing time taken away from them unless we are trading Kemp in a package for Miguel.

What?? Really? Where did you get this? I don't want to give Kemp up at all, but if he is getting traded to the O's that means we can't even acquire Miguel.

Also it is looking like the White Sox are going to sign Hunter per wiretap.

Hunter is an Angel. From that thread in the Gen board, I'm not liking what i hear about Betrard as far as his character is concern. I'd rather deal Kemp + others for Cabrera though. Our pitching is decent. If anything, it's a bomber that we need.

We just lost out on Hunter. The Angels are doing a lot this offseason and we haven't done anything. We are starting to run out of options so we better do something soon.

i could picture andruw on the dodgers. You guys really need a bat and i wouldnt give kemp up for a pitcher. Kemp will be a star sooner than later too. You guys have enough pitching so just trade some prospects for a bat and sign andruw. Also, I dont really understand the hunter to the angels deal. They locked up mathews jr last season and it just doesnt seem like a good fit there but o well. PS I'm a huge yankee fan but the dodgers are my second favorite team (i saw them play over the summer against the rockies it was pretty awesome) so im interested in how the summer shapes up for you guys as well and i hope u guys make the right moves =P
