No one here or any GM/FO is going to get every pick correct, not even close in fact. We're all here to shoot the poop and the majority of people I believe know that. Let’s not forget that three of the players this forum was most excited about from 2021 are among the worst players drafted in the top 8 (Cade, Green and Kuminga). Franz got a ton of hate and he’s arguably the 3rd best player.

We benefit from the work that analysts do. I highly doubt many of us watch hundreds of NCAA games.

At #7 or 8 Franz was my top choice.

Raptors can be patient with Ivisic at #31. He's shooting 60/60/80 with inconsistent PT. Wait until age 25 and he could be up there with Chet and Wemby or at least as good as Sarr. Geez in under 10mpg his BPM is 8. He's going to get to play 30mpg with the 905.

Small sample but the 3 games that he's played over 11 mpg he's bee crazy good.

I think his BPM is 8 because his minutes are low, not in spite of it. When he's playing well and the matchup is favourable he gets more minutes.

I also don't think we're getting much for Bruce Brown. He's not been very good for us and makes twenty million, I wouldn't be surprised if we just decline the team option.

I wanted Damantas Sabonis instead of Jakob Poeltl. Imagine if San Antonio got Sabonis, Derozan and 1st pick for Kawhi and Danny Green? They wouldn't be bad enough to get Wemby.

I was just thinking about Sabonis after his last triple double. I wondered if we could have had a different world with no title and Sabonis and JV as our frontcourt. That would have been terrible on defense but fun to watch.

Another thing with Smith is that his makes are very pure and with added strength I can see him bullying his way closer to the hoop at the NBA level and then getting off turnaround midrange jumpshots that will be difficult to contest. Buzelis is also good at using his length to get off turnaround jumpers but his shot isn't falling like Smith's, who is looking like the superior shotmaker.

Buzelis had 21 points today but let some other team take him earlier. I'm looking at Smith to eventually be the starting C over Olynyk and Poeltl. Ya, until he gets stronger would be more of a PF/C.

Buzelis and Ron Holland would be Ignite players that get drafted 5-15. I'm hoping Smith is there for the Pacers pick.

I looked a lot deeper at Smith and he's kinda very meh for me right now. His motor is so-so and it makes him really bland in the sense that you have this big athletic guy who isn't making the most of his physical profile. To his credit it does seem like he has improved in all areas but I still don't see him being much of a defender in the NBA. Shooters who can do enough on defense to stay on the floor usually find a way to stick in the NBA in some capacity but as far as being an impact player, I think I'd rather take a swing on someone else but it would depend on who is available instead of Smith.
