Re: The Knicks Injury Report thread.
OG, Randle, and Mitch will all come back in March.
We'll go on a mini run and grab the 6th seed or better.
We'll face and defeat MIL in the 1st round.
We'll face and defeat CLE in the 2nd round.
We'll face and defeat BOS in the ECF.
We'll face and defeat DEN in the NBA Finals.
We'll face and embrace each other at the NYK championship parade.

I love his game and all but the injury concerns with him are on the Kristaps level.
it's obvious he's not close. we've seen mitch and randle at the games. have we seen him ?
I think realistically Mitch is probably the closest, the fact they keep talking about surgery being an option for Randle still can't be a good sign. His game is so physical and a lot of it happens with him battering people with his right shoulder that there's a high chance he reinjures it. As for OG, the man hasn't shot a basketball in weeks, his surgery was on his shooting arm and we're supposed to have maybe 10-12 games with all these guys back before going into the playoffs? That isn't a recipe for playoff success, not when all the teams you're going against have been together for the whole season or 30 games post deadline.

Not understanding the negativity around OG.
Of course he's not shooting, that's not news.
It's not like he had knee surgery, once he's shooting the rock, he's basically good to go.
I don't see anything that indicates that a mid-March timetable is excluded.

Yea, I'm not sure why him not shooting is concerning. He had elbow surgery. Of course he's resting the elbow.
I don't see any ramp up needed from his injury. Once he's cleared, he should be ready to go.

Re: The Knicks Injury Report thread.
This should be Thibs' last season coaching this club. The two main reasons: 1) He runs guys into the ground by not utilizing his bench properly and 2) His offensive schemes are archaic
He's a good coach. But he's probably not the coach to take us to the top (see Mark Jackson to Steve Kerr... or whoever was before Phil Jackson when he took over the Lakers/Bulls).

It's not negativity, it's that understanding that a guy who will have missed nearly 2 months of games and hasn't shot a ball in a month is going to be rusty when they come back. The NBA season ends on April 14th, if he's back mid-late March he'll have 11-14 games to work himself back into form, while other teams won't need to do that. We're not going to make a deep playoff under these circumstances with 60% of the starting lineup coming back with less than 20 games to go.

I think that's plenty of time to get right for the playoffs, but we're all entitled to our own opinion.
I'm much more worried about Mitch and Julius, who had much more serious injuries than a bone spur.

All this makes me question the Bogs/Burks trade.
It's pretty obvious the team isn't doing jack in the playoffs. They should have just held onto Grimes instead of investing in the washed up twins.
Ok. I forgot they really couldn't hold Fournier hostage anymore. I guess.

Should have kept Grimes/Flynn out of the trade and left Burks in DET.

Yeah OG should still be doing cardio to stay in shape. It’s not a real game but it’s something. Once he can shoot then it shouldn’t be long after that.
Julius is obviously doing cardio too but, unlike Julius, OG’s injury isnt severe. He already had his surgery.
I bought good tickets to the 3/23 matinee Nets game at the height of our January win streak, right before OG and Julius got hurt. It’s looking like OG will definitely be back by that time, and perhaps one or both of Julius/Mitch as well (but not expecting them at all).
