The Philadelphia Phillies acquired reliever Brad Lidge from the Houston Astros in a five-player trade, a source told ESPN.com. The Phillies sent outfielder Michael Bourn, pitcher Geoff Geary and minor leaguer Mike Costanzo to Houston, and received infielder Eric Bruntlett in addition to Lidge.

Their bullpen goes from terrible to explosively terrible.

Is is bad that the best player coming back the Astros way is Mike Costanzo? I figured they could have gotten something a bit better than a speed merchant, a middle reliever, and a decent-ish prospect. Is he really that devalued?

not really....now we can go after f. cordero to be our closer.

I like the trade btw, we get our leadoff hitter in bourn, i have loved him ever since he was at U of H. Geary can be a good reliever for us, and Costanzo has power and plus he is 23.

good trade Ed Wade!!!!!

I thought Lidge was going to be the closer, and then they move Myers to the rotation. Makes no sense to go after Cordero.

Nicely done for the Phillies. Anything that gets Myers back into the rotation is a good thing. Brad Lidge is still dominant for those just checking in.

dominating at what? lol

trade is even in my opinion.

the phils get a an arm in lidge to move myers back to the rotation, and if iguchi leaves, they get eric bruntlett, who can play every fielding position except catcher.

we get a leadoff hitter we really need in bourn, plus he can play defense realy good and thats a must if u play center at minute maid park, geary is a good middle reliever even though he struggled last year, and we get the best power prospect in costanzo, who ed wade says can be a good player.

You know, I am not supporting Lidge or anything, being a Reds fan, but you never know what a change of scenery can do.

Doesn't seem like the ideal place to go for a chance of scenery though, but that's just me 69 cents.
