No it wouldn't be funny. It just emboldens the "Masai is a genius" crowd for lucking into a good result with horrific process (of rebuilding)

LOL already planting the seeds so you can still hate Masai even in a fantasy world where the absolute best case scenario happens

Imagine how sweet it would be if the Hawks knocked them out of the Play In and then somehow fluked into the top 4 lol

Top 3. Then we get 2 2nd's instead.

If Pacers miss the POs we need them to only get 4th if they move up

I heard somewhere that the Magic have the easiest remaining schedule. I think it may have been on the No Dunks podcast. Not sure if true but hopefully it is and the Magic finish above the Pacers. The 76ers are just not any good without Embiid. Harris is really **** the bed for them in the games I have seen.

yup, ORL has the weakest schedule remaining

Del just doesn't want anything positive to happen to the management team, even if it is good for the tWo. It's absolute madness. I'm hoping Del can pull out of this cycle of despair/depression. If any of this meant anything I'd suggest help for Delabbot!

I do think it is a nightmare like scenario for the pacers pick to hit at 4 somehow and then people are like "Trust in Masai" hahahaha. It would be pretty incredible. Just for the Schadenfreude, jah?

The question is, does meaningful development actually occur within a perennial losing culture/tanking? I personally feel that if you have a strong scouting team that you bet on, it makes more sense to build and sustain a winning culture as opposed to intentionally lose and/or strip your team of any quality players that can help your young stars mature and learn winning basketball.

Pistons, Wizards, Hornets would really like to say hello to you. It’s a game of odds, destroy your team culture for a 15% chance at a number 1 pick that has a 15% chance of translating into a future superstar.

I’ll take what Masai is selling, it’s worked for us in the past and is a more sustainable model with less luck involved. Key word being less, ofcourse getting lucky along the way is always needed.

It's a real easy argument to make when you pick the 3 worst run franchises in the entire league.

Those teams aren't perpetually in the lotto cause they are intentionally tanking. They are perpetually in the lotto because their FO has no clue how to build a team.

Correlation =/= causation.

Looks like Pacers going to lose

Massive N-O lead. Over 25 pts and less than 5 mins to play.

The Ind pick is so tight therefore it’s great to see.

Haliburton having a cold night

0 pts

0 / 7 from the field

Can really mess things up if they keep loosing. We could end up with another 11th or 12th pick. Would help make the Siakam trade better for us.

its certainly possible...lakers and warriors heating up and miami/orl have very easy schedules.
hali scored zero points today; not sure if injuries or what is going on but they're flailing a bit at the moment.

I’m really hoping this draft turns into the 2011 draft. Everybody said it was “weak” going in and overall maybe it was but it produced several legit players after the top 10 picks…. Klay #11, Kawhi #15, Vucevic #16, Harris #20 and butler #30.

The nightmare scenario would be the 2000 draft, it was expected to be weak going in and it indeed wound up as complete trash top to bottom.

The fact that picks in this draft have been traded around like candy is a bit concerning.

Raptors losing to Mavs and Warriors was not unhelpful to the cause.

Gotta lose to the Magic (x2), Kings, Pelicans, Knicks, and Lakers and in the next month. And beat the Pacers' asses on our last home game of the season, then lose to the Heat (x2)

Tough to do all that while gunning for a play-in spot.

Lakers up on the Nuggets.
Heat won.
Grizzlies about to win.
Nets won.

Could be a really good night for our picks.

Grizzlies are master tankers.
