Re: More Free Agent Talk
If OPJ doesn't get bought out by the Jazz just play the guys we have. I would bring Garuba in just in case but I think it's more advantageous for the Warriors to keep him on a two way since it enables them to keep him on one next season I think.

Onus wrote:TB wrote:Onus wrote:How would you feel if they signed Javonte and he took over all of moody and q minutes and some of podz/jk minutes?
If Javonte is back to his normal self, then I would live with the results because he's been a net positive with a GP2 like boost for teams when he plays. But I suspect he'd just be for deep rotation depth if there are injuries. Maybe instantly take Gui/Lester/Moody minutes if he looks good.
Basically I'd roll with this:
Steph / CP3 / Lester
Podz / GP2 / Moody
Wiggins / Klay / Javonte
Kuminga / Saric / Gui
Dray / Trayce / Loon
And ya, if healthy I could see Javonte being the 11th man ahead of Moody wether he should be or not. But I'd have no problem with him over Lester/Gui or even some defensive stretches over Klay/Saric.
If Javonte is healthy and ready to play a real role I can see him closing over jk.
A curry/podz/green/wigs/green lineup might work. But really is Javonte really bring that much more than moody? We really need moody to break into the rotation
Javonte is more "chaotic" in a GP2 good way. Moody is the better overall player, or at least projects to be. I agree Moody should be in rotation, but if he's not.. I'd rather have a Javonte type spark off the bench than playing Lester/Gui or more minutes of Klay/Saric than are needed.

This is kind of a wasted season. So I'm wondering if it's just better to give those minutes to Santos, etc. But I'd definitely want him back here for future seasons where he basically becomes the new Iguodala except he can still play.

Why wasted? We’re making the playoffs and as long as you’re there anything can happen

Sounds like Otto Porter is soon to agree to a buyout with the Jazz and has a desire to rejoin the Warriors. Bringing Otto back could further shore up the defense by gluing Dario to the bench.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Meh. I'm not deluding myself into thinking this team has anything more than a slim chance of doing anything this season. But of course, you never know. With that said, I'd still lean on the side of signing him. Really want to see him with the lineup of Steph/Wiggins/Kuminga/OPJ/Draymond.
But I'm just wondering if this season would be better served for setting up next season by playing the youngsters like Santos. But if Kerr is not interested in doing that, then might as well sign OPJ.

I like Dario, but I'd also not mind never seeing him play on this team again.

They just gave #14 roster spot to Quinones.
Would the Warriors pay for a #15 spot or have to cut someone?

They saved a bunch of money from drays suspension and trading cojo.
I’m delusional but think if opj can stay healthy for a playoff run we could win it all.

That's the funny thing, a healthy OPJ might be our 5th best player.

I specifically remember the Warriors pursuing Patty two years back. He palmed us for the Nets because he thought they had a better chance at a title.
Whoops.
Whoops.
