Miami Heat Regular Season Thread 6.0 -Everything's Gonna Be All Wright

Not a single Heat player in the Top 30 list on the Production RAT scale. I am sometimes surprised, how we even get to where we get to not having a guy who can sustained that type of production for a full season. Jimmy would probably be top 5 on this list if he gave a damn from opening tip of game 1 through the end of 82. I guess we need to settle for 1/3 of the season and top 5 in the playoffs as long as he is our guy. Once he is gone though, whose gonna be that guy to be our number 1. I guess were 2-3 years out from that, but hopefully its a young player were we can get it for a long time, I miss having the best player on the court on most nights during a regular season game, really miss Wade. It was special from day one when he stepped on the court, as a fan I hope to one day have that feeling again.

If you let the recruiting brigade tell it once Jimmy rides off into the sunset we'll form another super 3 with Bam's friends, so it's going to be a very long time before we're bad enough to be in a position to draft the caliber of generational player you're talking about. We'll have to be content with having a competitive team that can make some serious playoff runs, even if we don't have the best or most exciting player on the floor.

We have an equal opportunity offense outside of Herro, our guys don’t play for statistics and basic box score metrics or they’d be on there for sure

Even Paul isn't that stupid. This is just barbershop talk. There probably was initial talks of a potential trade but it most likely never progressed into something that actually had any shot of happening.

Just maybe Pat Riley knows how to build a roster better than everyone else dispite not getting the popular player.

Oh I've got no questions about that. The post I was responding to was about drafting a generational talent though, we are rarely bad enough to be in that mix.

nice attitude he knows that he's underperforming but i think he can adjust as time goes by. some players are just built like that. hope we see it soon though as the playoffs are getting closer and closer

I agree with you, but if he thinks about his business ventures, he developed a brand, CP3.

I'm not sure it can be changed to CP4 or anything else.

Yeah that was a brand decision, sometimes those come before winning for some players. Had that trade went down, means we were losing Chris Bosh. I don't think without Bosh Miami would have been as successful as they were, a small guard usually isn't as impactful.

CP was so stuck on the jersey number (that the franchise's best player is also wearing) he was unwilling to join possibly the greatest dynasty since the MJ's Bulls (if LeBron stayed n Wade didn't break down, etc, but at the time, it seemed so possible)?

Yea I'd bet this is something that they can claim "existed" because it was discussed at some point, but probably never made it past any conceptual stage
