Gaff looks good ... only playing 7 mins last night certainly was an interesting decision.

Luka's forcing passes today...too many casual passes,giveaways...some very sloppy play from him

TOs and offensive rebounds was the issue. We're shooting 51/39/90 splits while TOR is at 43/33/70 splits, we should be winning. Luka gotta take care of the ball better and stop forcefeeding.
I'm interested what the closing line up will be without Maxi.

Re: RS 23/24 - Mavs @ Raptors (730PMEST)
The Mavs are gonna keep Kidd until Kyrie's contract is over. I say that because are fundamentals on defense are and bad. Outside of Luka and Kyrie the rest of our guys have to be play really hard defense.
Lively still struggles with awareness, body position, and he needs to get stronger. With PJ washington as our new starter - were gonna have to improve our SF position next year and move Green to the bench to get better. That's my feeling. We also need to add as many dogs as possible at every position. Center is sowed up but we need to find dawgs at every other positions. Guys known to bring energy and intensity on defense.
We need guys that can make things happen without the ball. I also wouldn't be opposed to a PF that can be our 6th man. Someone that can score downlow. We could use more post play on this team that can come in and score in the paint. That's an element I would look to add to this team. More depth at PF but someone who can attack the paint and maybe also still hit that 3.
Those are my thoughts...I know Luka and Kyrie make mistakes at times ( out of bounce play last game by Kyrie ) but we can't have that from the guys around them. This kinda inconsistent and undisciplined play will keep us as a middle of pack team with potential. The west is hard and we're very inconsistent.
Last thing, since Jason kidd will probably be here until Kyrie contract is up - and it doesn't look like our style of play on offense will change...heavy Kyrie and Luka...I think the only thing we can do is add really consistent 2 way player at the SF. Also as many dogs on our bench as possible. Including a PF ( 6th man) that can really bang down low and give us some easier paint points and also get the other team in the penalty.
Aside from that, we can only hope the best for this season because right now we're very mediocre on defense and as a cohesive unit.

Green is useless on the floor.

I think he brings some value when the pressure is off him to some degree. We need another 2 way player that can really defend next year. Use maxi and hardaway to get that guy.

Lively is playing at a really high level to start this 3rd. On both ends.

Why do we have a game plan like we play sloppy for three Qs and hopefully Luka and Ky will save our arse in the last Q? I am saying this because it sure looks like that.

If you can get a great 2 way for him, fine. If not, you keep him because he's young, athletic, and can knock down the 3. He also has experience with this group.

Luka is running the point today. He's definitely looking for his guys. Hopefully this makes things easier. Gotta win this one.

At this point, when guys make really dumb mistakes (t0s) or take really ill advised shots - they should be immediately subbed and told why..jason kidd has to clean up mistakes. Cannot have certain mistakes everynight if we wanna play better.

Really good 3rd quarter. One of our better quarters of the year. Luka moved the ball extremely well.

Exum's numbers aren't big today but you can already see his impact. He's a good connector. Just makes smart plays and doesn't really have any weaknesses. Good to have him back. Looking forward to bigger minutes from him when his minute restriction is lifted.

Exum being back is huge for Mavs. To have another playmaker next to Kyrie giving him free room to do anything he wants.

One thing Jason kidd has to do better is to hold guys accountable when we're up. Bad shot selection and bad defense should not be excused just because were winning. I also like how their is less one on one and kyrie is moving a lot more with another PG on the floor.
