9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

It looks like a win win to me. OG wanted out and was happy to join the Knicks. Precious adds some depth to their injured front court. IQ, RJ and the Detroit pick allow the Raptors to get younger and attempt to rebuild. It seems to me to be a good ole fashion trade between unlikely partners.

Yeah not sure where highway robbery comes from.

It is not even a guarantee that OG is the best player in the deal long-term... it does seem to be a guarantee that Precious (and Flynn) are the worst.

The fit for NYK is great with OG, but IMO IQ and RJ both have the potential to be better than him.

Yeah, the fit is great with OG. Especially with Randle and a coach like Thibs. Hopefully he can stay healthy. It will be intriguing to follow how their careers develop. RJ made some nice passes last night. Hopefully he can improve his shot and defence.

Achiuwa is playing 41 minutes a game in Feb.....more than double his 16 mins in Dec with the Raps.

Achiuwa didn't become a different guy. He just has a coach who is giving him way more minutes and has put him in a limited ball handling role that Nurse and Darko failed with.

But in the end, Achiuwa is making himself more expensive and it's ok that he Raps are not the ones having to pay that.

Good on Achiuwa, not only is he averaging good numbers, but those numbers actually impact winning in a big way. Knicks are 9-5 since Achiuwa started getting big minutes.

Always felt he was badly mis used and badly coached in toronto... ibwas expecting him to break out... he s better than any big on raps (exclusive scottie).

Well that isn't true.

But you have shown your irrational hate already toward Yak and Olynyk.

I love OG, but he's always hurt. He only played over 70 games once and that was his first year.

Yeah he has legit injury concerns.

I wonder how much of it is that he is hurt and how much of it that he has a low tolerance for discomfort, because they are always just weird different little injuries and really nothing ever "serious"

Hmmm hadn't ever considered that but it seems true that his injuries are all kinda bizarre. We've been chalking it up to bad luck for years now. I wonder if he just kinda likes time off on the low.

If the goal was development it made sense for the Raptors to give him a larger role even if that wasn't the role he is most effective in.

And like you said the main thing he is getting more minutes. We will see if his more efficient scoring is sustainable

I think we are referencing more the 18 other injuries that have taken place over the last half decade.

The guy has played more than 48 guys in a season ONE TIME 2020.

He has played a total of 199 games since the 2021-22 season began. That was the Tampa bay season. Barnes, who was drafted a whole year after that, has played 209 in that same span.

No way around it - OG is injury prone and it is generally is not serious injuries nor anything reoccuring.

Here is a list of his injuries per foxsports:
