Honestly, the only thing concerning about Wemby as of right now is just how dominant he already looks.

The league IS in trouble with him, Jokic, and Luka on the loose.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

Wouldn't surprise me if Wemby is vying for mvp next season at the rate he's going.

So here’s a question:

Five years from now. Wemby playing on his second contract max on the Spurs. They’ve done a good but not miraculous job surrounding him with talent, say one All-Star level guard and three other at least average starters. Pop still plugging away but almost done, with a chosen successor on his staff.

What does Wembanyama average (PTS/REB/AST/STL/BLK), and on what splits?
How good are the Spurs?

Too many players would have this movie already, stars are going to want to play with him and pop

It wouldn't surprise me either.

The only thing that would surprise me is that the Spurs could put together a decent squad around him
so quickly. But if they get some of the right pieces, there's no reason that he shouldn't be able to.
He's unreal and he has the mentality to go with his talents.

It’s other teams should be concerned.

I thought the OP expressed these concerns respectfully and wasn't trolling. Don't get the dragging here for being wrong.

You know that defensive advanced stats love him, right?

Oh really? In which one does he lead the league in? I'll wait.

Why would he have to lead? He is 7th in DEPM, does that mean this stat does not love him?

Spurs don't have much of anything else on that roster, but they have a lot of future assets stocked up. They'll get another high picks this year, albeit in a weak draft. It'll probably be their last high pick for awhile.

Imagine if they get Wemby some Jrue/Middleton level help......... Instant dynasty.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

no one's dragging anyone. this is just good natured ribbing of a thread that was made after literally 11 games.

People in this thread were saying he'd never be an above average 3 point shooter, thats absolutely ridiculous. he already was in the month of February.
These are the opinions of one lifelong Spurs fan, nothing more

I'm concerned he's going to beat all our teams for the next decade-plus lol.

Just watched a condensed replay of Spurs-Thunder. Damn Wemby is incredible.

First player in NBA history with 25+ pts, 10+ reb, 5+ ast, 5+ blk and 5+ 3pm in a game. And he's like 15 years old or some crazy ish haha.

Congrats Spurs fans.

Imagine going from generational big man to generational big man every generation?

David Robinson to Tim Duncan to Victor Wembanyama.

Spurs fan base is extremely lucky.

Next GOAT no exaggerating. He can surpass Mike and LeBron too because his defensive impact is just going to be much larger as a big.
