With the new CBA, I don't think there is an all in offer for the Mavs.
Mavs have 2 1sts and 1 swap, young guys (Hardy and OMax) who don't have a 1st rd value, expendable contracts are THJ expiring and Dwight Powell 4 Mil this year and 4 the next.
The rest are real rotation guys, what the Mavs need:
1. Bench scorer and Kyrie injury backup, I'm thinking Sexton.
2. 3&D forward (like half the league).

If PJW continues to play well, improve his 3 pt shooting, I'd trade for Sexton, and sign DJJ for TPMLE.

Lively/Gafford/Maxi
PJW/OMax
Luka/DJJ
Green/Exum/Hardy
Kyrie/Sexton

+ 2 vet min contracts...

I think DFS remains a strong target. How do you feel about DFS+CamT for THJ+2xFRP

I'd keep the 31 1st for a bigger deal.
If PJW doesn't work, then THJ + 25 1st for DFS and MLE on bench guard will also work.

Ok fair. DFS and MLE on Lonnie.

What’s the plus in Gafford for Herb Jones? The 2025 first enough?

I know it’s pretty sad to suggest trading a guy that’s comes in and been everything we could’ve hoped… But ya..

Don't see Herb as available in a package like that, to a division rival, especially. We know about Herb's all-defensive play, but this season he's shooting 40+% on 3's and he's great at finishing on drives, cuts and in transition. He's also on one of the best contracts in the league at 13, 14, 15 mil. per year for the next 3 seasons. Maybe sounds crazy to an outsider, but he's a franchise cornerstone and culture setter. Value would start at Lively + 1st, but even then Pels probably don't see that as enough to give him up. And sure, Mavs fans could see that as too much, anyway.

I wouldn't consider it if I was the Pels.

Yeah, was worth a shot

But wouldn’t add a first to Lively obviously.

Lively for Herb straight up is a no for the Mavs IMO, even w/o the 1st.

I still think J.Grant would be great for the Mavs...the fact that he is overpaid is what makes him "attainable" with our assets...we need Tim's scoring...without being a black hole on defense... .Luka/KI/Grant with one of Lively/Gafford and Green/PJ depending on the matchup

Lively/Gafford
PJ/DJJ
Grant/Green
KI/Hardy
Luka/Exum

In summary, a valuable two way player on a great contract like Herb Jones isn't available for anything Mavs (fans) would offer.

If PJW doesn't work, then THJ + 25 1st for DFS and MLE on bench guard will also work.

I think DFS makes sense even if PJ works. You could argue it's not worth giving a 1st if he's coming off the bench, but a reliable 3&D wing taking all of THJ's minutes would still be a nice upgrade.

Who defends opposing guards? You don't really want Kyrie doing it, but no one else in that lineup is quick enough.

Green, Exum, and Jones are going to be your primary options. Ky and Hardy(if he plays) are going to have to do their best.

But Grant is totally the wrong guy to pursue with Washington already here.

This is the spot created by waiving Poku, who then signed with the Charlotte Thunder.

He left in Josh Green so I guess the idea is:
- 2025 unprotected
- 2026 swap (after this draft I think that's doable)
- Kleber
- Hardaway JR

which isn't insane, I guess, though it's a little light. But 2 unprotected picks for Grant feels a little steep to beat it. Portland probably would prefer the same offer from some team and the picks being further away just to get some upside on them, maybe not that bad extra Kleber year. In this instance, you need Luka to miss 25 games or so before the picks get really intriguing. Like one 2028 unprotected Sacramento or Philly first feels more fun than the Dallas 2025 unprotected pick. At least there's time for things to go wrong there. I could see Philly actually, just because they have cap space and if you're Portland it makes sense to bank on Embiid being old, injured or traded in 3-4 years, and all the potential "Luka has left as a free agent and now we're bad" picks are gone in Dallas in of course, an attempt to keep Luka from going.

It might be a bit light, but it’s pretty close. Don’t want THJ anywhere near the POR young guys, maybe some other would want him.

Does DLo for Keldon make sense in offseason?

Spurs could use a PG that can be off ball and Keldon seems to be in the.doghouse amongst Spurs fans.
