I like Chet's individual traits better, but he's basically Miami Bosh right how as the very clear third banana playing a passenger role in OKC. Whereas Paolo is the very clear driver in Orlando. So I have to give Banchero the early edge.

If I was Orlando, I would surround him with as much shooting as possible.

I like Wendell Carter at the C and Suggs has become a league average shooter at G. Franz ain't going to cut it, IMO. His jumper just isn't good enough. They should trade him now before he gets overrated.

I would offer Wagner to New Orleans for Trey Murphy, Jordan Hawkins and a pick.

Orlando can then play 5 out with 4 shooters and let Banchero dominate.

Wow. IMO if the Magic are dumb enough to trade Wagner, they'll live to regret it. Banchero is a great offensive player, but Wagner can be a true difference maker on both ends of the floor. If I had to part with one, I'm moving Banchero while his value is soaring.

Wagner shoots too poorly to be a supporting star to play off a #1. He's shooting significantly under league average, at this point. I think he's about to be a realllly bad contract once he gets his extension.

And he doesn't really draw contact and get to the free throw line. I just don't see the appeal in him. I think he's very overrated right now.

I didn't like Banchero as a prospect, but I cannot deny his greatness. He's the clear-cut alpha and is carrying the Magic towards winning. He's becoming undeniable.

Franz has slightly scaled up his offense on a team with bad spacing and a ball hog. His career mark from 3 is fine, and he's a 85% FTer. He can shoot adequately given space, and Embiid and Maxey would give it to him. He also does some of everything else and he's a wing with good size.

RJ Barrett has put together one of the better 20 game stretches of his career since joining the Raptors. Shooting the ball well, getting to the rim more, and rebounding better. I wonder if this is just the honeymoon period or this is a real boost from getting away from Randle since they had so much overlap as players.

PJ Tucker played 11 minutes last night. Took 0 shots scored 0 points. He's already in playoff mode.

Ive said it a few months back, he looked good during the summer. Even Dilon Brook’s shooting improved a lot. From what Ive heard the Canadian basketball team fixed the arc of their shots

Apparently Chris Paul was on some podcast talking about how he doesn't like or trust Morey because of his lack of people skills? Weird time to bring up a grudge, but Paul is notoriously a **** who never lets anything go.

That’s where Elton Brand gets into the picture. Good cop bad cop.

I'd throw a real contract at Oscar this offseason. He'll be an RFA and I know he's proven nothing in the NBA yet, but he's probably one of the best rebounder if given minutes. With Joel spending most of his time in midrange land, I could see him being able to play with Joel. Embiid is such a mid rebounder and the rest of the roster is nothing special in that regard either. Would be nice to have a stud with that trait when we're getting killed on the boards.

I'd certainly take a flyer on Tshiebwe. Kid is a grinder and a gamer, and guys like that, especially if they have a particular part of the game that makes them special, tend to make solid role players in the league. As an elite rebounder who adds a tough defensive presence and post up game, there should always be a place on a roster for him, and Lord knows we could use the rebounding.

There is no way a guy named Tshiebwe can end up being a good player.

With a name like that he has to be good at whatever he puts his heart into. He has no other choice. :D

I like how the Celts are looking like the best team in the league by a big margin. I hope they're peaking now and that it goes downhill for them when the playoffs come. I've noticed that lately, the regular season favorites often end up being traps in the playoffs.

The Milwaukee Bucks have held their opponents under 100 points in 4 straight games. And 6 of last 10

The Milwaukee Bucks have the 2nd best defensive rating in the NBA since Adrian Griffin was fired.

18 game sample size.

Can’t see how you consider Giannis a multi-skilled offensive player, and not Embiid or Tatum.

76ciology wrote:
In today's game, having multi-skilled offensive players is essential for running complex offenses against advanced defenses. Relying solely on a superstar and a group of shooters makes it easier for defenses to counter, as we witnessed last season with the Celtics. This vulnerability becomes even more apparent when our superstar isn't consistently reliable and requires support from his teammates' scoring abilities.

While not as extreme as our situation, the Celtics face a similar challenge with Tatum as their franchise player. Unlike Jokic, Giannis, or LeBron, Tatum doesn't possess all-time great caliber talent, highlighting the importance of surrounding him with complementary scoring talents to mask his limitations.

Furthermore, the prerequisites for effective defense, especially at the 3-4-5 positions, are also higher. Lengthy wings are necessary to recover and close out on defense against more skilled offensive players and complex offensive strategies.
