Week or two.. like I said, obsessively standing watching other teams when people are anxious about our team is just going to be stressful lol. This thread's fine for now.

I feel like the more people focus on our own team the better RN.

But it kinda relieves the bordrom on days we dont have games.

I remember the tanking threads fondly where we were in anguish watchibg the other tanks spectacularly Fade For Cade. Lol

I agree with wanting a playoff positioning (magic number) thread. I bet most of us are using this thread do track this but it’d be nice to have a place where all the info pertaining to seeding can be held, tracked and discussed.

It’s all part of the fun of having a competitive team.

Agreed. Its kinda fun with fake anguish if IND wins by a buzzer beater or DET blows a 20pt to PHI or gasping in fake outrage when Brunson gets called for a flagrant 2 in the 1st half or etc etc

Sunday
Sixers at Mavericks
Knicks at Cavs
Magic vs Pistons

Could be a glorious Sunday indeed.

To clarify, if Orlando wins and the Knisks and Sixers both lose, a very likely outcome, Orlando will be sitting at #4 in the Eastern standings!

Orlado already won the tiebreaker with NYKs and already lost the tiebreaker with Philly, for those keeping score.

This weeks editorial on the NBA is really intersting. On how great Jokić is in trasnition and how great Haliburton is at setting screens:

ESPN: Lowe ediotiral

This quote was just priceless to me:
Well, at least the Pistons are normal-bad now instead of historically bad ....

Anyhow, there is a really nice view of Suggs defense, and that his steals are not gambles. Rather, he just knows where passing lanes will be.

Which then leads to a second priceless quote:
Markelle Fultz doesn't appear to be happening.

pepe couldn't have wrote that sentence any better!

Is RJ really leading the tank???

Speaking of RJ... that RJ Zion Ja draft is wild. Supposedly a generational draft yet the top 3 are hurting their teams lol

Yea he is the new Lavine. No matter how good his stats looks, his teams are always better without him.

It might irk some people to talk about contending when we are yet to see Paolo and Franz taste playoff basketball, but to me it needs to be all about what's next and how to get there.

As it stands, I see only two teams as clear contenders for coming out of East - Celtics and Bucks, with Heat alway lurking in shadows waiting to pounce at any weakness they might have (and they do). Clearly we are not on that level yet, and it is not even close. But, neighter are rest of the East - and that presents a chance. So, while we may get to enjoy some thrilled games this postseason, I am more anxious to see the plan and execution for getting us to contender status next season.

Re: the Heat... anyone else think of MIA gets called properly by the refs they wouldnt be that good? They do a lot of moving screens esp by Bam and holding/grabbing plus Kevin Loves dangerous undercuts.

TBF, its too early to judge how he does in this TOR team. He is finally out of Thibs coaching.

Not sure about refs, but those guys embrace the underdog status coming into playoffs and bring it every night, every second on the floor.

Not a statement against your post, but screw the idea of "only tasting the playoffs". I want Orlando to be the 4-seed, win its series in round-1 and then be truly testing in round two with a chance to make the Eastern Conference Finals. At this point, I am in DREAM BIG mode.

I couldn't agree more, but "tasting playoff basketball" seems to have been goal set by front office for this year. I wish they had the drive we have.
