Re: Clippers at Wolves NOW
Ironically, we were better in the clutch with DLo. Well, it was a good run and a very enjoyable year. Let's hope the coaching staff find something to get us pass the 1st round of playoffs. If we still haven't fix the offer by now, it's not going to happen.

We had a better offense. For 1, Dlo can get shots. Towns was unleashed on offense more, way more space to attack and create or post. We were just more potent of an offense in general. We have taken steps back offensively and Towns is a lot more limited with Rudy out there and he hasn't been able to as offensive as he was in his prime.
We haven't found a great balance between being elite on defense while still being really good on offense yet, we have gotten close recently though.

Agree with most of it except the Rudy part. I think we play Vanderbilt in those situations too. As good as Conley has been. He isn't the shoot creator that he used to be. We had 3 before and now only two. I feel that is the biggest difference. Although there are situations I would sub out both Gobert and KA. Today would be one of those. I can't figure out why we played them both today.

ESPN just did a very nice analysis on the play with 24.3 sec left. Gobert up top. Harden guarding Towns in the post. He should take Harden to low post but instead pop out and miss a 3. Yes, we want Towns to take 3s but he needs to take advantage of the smaller player and make a strong (not crazy quick) post move.

And that's the stuff that drives Barkley crazy and why he doesn't like our team. That's why he has a point, we aren't chopped liver but we do leave a lot of easy opportunities on the table.
I hope Towns works on his low post game this off season and gets back to where he used to be. He was really good there in the past, he seems to have lost some of that.

Totally agree. This one on Finch too. He should close with KAT/ANT/NAZ/Jaden/ Mike, all good 3 point shooters. When you put Rudy and Kyle, we have option 3 options from deep and it become so easy for the opponent.

Wasn’t just end of game. We lost the first 4 minutes of the second quarter by 13. Kyle and Rudy playing together allows smart coaches to reshape their defense and make everything harder for the Wolves. Kyle being out showed just how much better the spacing is with no more than 1 non shooter at any time.

If that’s true, then how do you explain our being close in most of our loses. We have had blown leads in more than half of them, near misses against teams including OKC, Boston, LAC, and the Bucks. Not to mention wins against each of them. So if we paper tigers and they can barely beat us, often after we beat ourselves, does that make them paper tigers as well?

No, because they win.
Just...go Google the definition of paper tiger before responding please.

Lost some of his low post game? When do they go to him there?

Why didn't Ant or Kat take a 3 pt shot in that last possession?

You cannot be serious.
KAT in the 2024 playoffs: 19.1, 9.0, 2.6 on 46.6 / 36.1 / 85.5.

Two games in a row like that.
Sure, Rudy sets good screens. He cannot be on the floor for those end of game plays with almost no time on the clock. The spacing is too difficult. Anderson can’t be either.
Unforgivable logic from Finch.

Re: Clippers at Wolves NOW
I think we need to have either Ant or KAT on floor most of the time. Finch ran a stupid lineup in start of 2nd qtr and that ended up costly. The team made so many stupid mistakes yesterday...you can't give so many 2nd chance points to a team like Clippers

1. I know the definition of paper tiger.
2. Our splitting the season series with OKC, Boston, the Bucks, and at worst splitting with the Clippers precludes us being a paper tiger. If they are the toughest and we beat them at least half the time. We have some bite behind our bark.
3. Beyond point 2, even the games when we lose to the elite teams, we often have big leads that we blow during a meltdown. Out scored 36-13 against the Bucks, blowing double digit 4th quarter leads to OKC and Boston, ect… Paper Tigers cannot build those leads. A Paper Tiger in a sports context is what happened last year. We had a great team on paper, we appeared threatening. Despite the outward appearance, last season injury and other issues derailed us and we were all bark and very little if any bite. Were we truly a paper tiger teams would want to face us in the playoffs after seeing us in the regular season, I guarantee you, most coaches and fan bases are not looking forward to that.

I am serious. It doesn't seem to me they post him up much. He's always shooting from the outside or driving to the basket. I'd love to see him post up more against good matchups which is most everybody.
