i mean, you notice that no star has chosen to go play with Luka. Irving was traded and yes, he resigned but for a lot of money. that ball dominant play from Luka isnt going to attract many players

It seems fairly difficult to have an elite team when you have such a liability defensively like Luka. Trae, Luka, Harden....give you all the offense you want but never will lead an elite team unfortunately. Giannis, Lebron, Kawhi, KD...they all defend (or at one point they did). I do think if you surround Luka with incredible defense then MAYBE you have a shot. But of course if you do that, he'd lack help offensively. Luka, Suggs, Franz, Isaac, Goga....I mean it COULD work. That is 4 high level defenders around Luka, and Franz and Suggs aren't bad offensively either.

Nuggets won title with 3 players in starting 5 ( and Jeff Green off bench, out of all people) who can easly be viewed as either below average defenders or flat out liabilities. Especially MPjr.

As long as you have okey defensive system and players buy into it and don't gamble on defense too much you can win title with okey to even flat out bad individual defenders.

Hell, Heat last year: Gabe Vincet, Max Struss, Duncan Robinson, Kevin Love...

Historically, being top 10 offense and defense is "blueprint" for a title.

Heat made the finals last year. They were 6th worse in ORTG.
