I could average 3.4 YPC in the modern NFL.

He was bad last year almost every NFL back can get 3.4 YPC and he had a huge opportunity with Jones’ injuries.

Yep. He had a shot with Jones being out so long and he was horrific. My guess is that the Packers bring back Jones and spend two picks on RBs.

Yeah.... Kinda depends on what's going to happen with Bakh and Nijman. If they're both gone, I'd sigh, and say welcome back John.

The other wildcards at this point are the limited FA dollars and what hopes they have for OLine in the draft.

Yeah, I suppose it depends on the price. It'd be fine for depth because as you said, we're gonna be losing some of that this offseason most likely, but I'd also be okay letting Rhyan fight with some draft picks in camp for that spot.

Good point about Rhyan. I sometimes forget he's on the roster, even though he started to look like an NFL player at times towards the end of the season.

We at least know JRJ is at worst a serviceable option and he'll just turn 27 before next season. I'm never opposed to retaining a guy who is useful o-line depth just entering his prime years.

If we can land McKinney my excitement for the next few seasons is going through the roof.

Idk if we'll splurge for Mckinney but I do expect us to pick up a few mid tier FA to plug n play immediately. Jerome Baker is a guy who makes alot of sense. Maybe something like re-signing Nixon, Jerome Baker, and Kamren Curl

Rhyan seems a lot more powerful than Runyan, but Runyan is pretty good at pass-blocking and that's what the Packers need. Love gets rid of the ball pretty fast, and you don't need to be an above average guard to be an effective pass-blocker in a good offensive scheme - as has been proven over and over in the last 4 years, with the OL almost always being good despite a revolving door of injuries and tons of snaps for much-despised "scrubs" like Nijman, Runyan, Turner, and Myers.

Granted, all of those guys had bad games too, but the overall play of the OL was consistently above average, and it just goes to show that you need solid depth more than you need a bunch of guys in the top 10 at their OL position.

The closer we get to Free Agency the more I think GB is just gonna bring in a low cost vet at Saftey but shock people and make a legit play at Saquan and pair him with Jones.

Seems unlikely but just got a strange feeling

If they're to make any FA play, doesn't automatically require cutting Bakh by the 13th? That move may be the "Bat Signal" that other incoming moves may be possible?

Bakh is a goner regardless. That number is just not workable and there is no way around it. Kicked the can once too many times.

Safety market may actually allow us to get a reasonably priced starter. Then the other spot is up for grabs between Johnson, Owens and whatever rooks they bring in.

I'm starting to envision a scenario where Bakh could return, but I might be misunderstanding some cap logistics. He's going to get $19m if he's cut, but what if the Packers offer him ~$24m if he's willing to spread out the cap hit more? If he really wants a chance to try to play at least one more year, I don't think anyone is going to offer any more than that extra $5m. The Packers are the only team that might have any real incentive to pay him anything more than the bare minimum because they're the team that has a $19m cap hit (for now). He's still probably going to be cut, but I'm not sure it's 100% yet - especially if they want to dive into FA with gusto.

Also, comp picks should be official any day now.

There are so many safeties in FA this year. Seems like a pretty safe bet we sign atleast one and possibly two.

Not criticizing any of these recent moves per se, but good safeties are being devalued like RBs. Good for the Packers.
